Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South KoreaThe hostel is a good value for money but still there are things can be improved. This hostel is a very old house, and it seems some areas still under maintenance. Despite the staff is constantly cleaning... some areas like the kitchen are usually messy, this because of some guest that don't wash the dishes, also, during my time there some stole my juice and cheese from the fridge, I cannot blame the hostel but I guess is a risk you take when you use a common area. The Hostel do not provide any type of breakfast, even coffee or purified water, but they have some night activities during the week were they offer pesto pasta and a cocktail. The lockers inside the rooms are not enough for all the beds, and the hostel don't provide towels for free, so make sure to bring yours if you don't want to pay for it.
La Casa Roja was a great place to stay specially if you are a traveler in a budget, the hostel is a walkable area to the city center of Santiago which is nearby many landmarks, there is a small supermarket couple blocks aways where you can get your groceries. The staff was very kind and the don't hesitate to find solutions for any you ask for. The hostel is very clean and you can see staff constantly cleaning the common areas.

I had a private room and it was MAAAASIVE! Bed was quite comfy and had a big window but it's a bit hight so couldn't really look out of it 😉 it's a great building, I wonder what was there originally! Bathrooms were alright but few times there was no toilet paper in the ladies so bring your own just in case. The hostel has a great vibe, it does pool parties or free dinners on occasion. The kitchen is big and a pool side and bar comfy. It's about 15 mins walk to town centre but just two streets away is a small square where there are few cafes and restaurants. Staff at the reception has limited English (if any) but they're okay.

CanadaDorm rooms, ie #14 could use a hook on bed post or rack on wall to hang a towel, jacket etc. Not sure why shelf in shower is so high, you have to stand on tip toes & stretch, would be better lower

CanadaThe pool is an awesome feature for a hostel at this price, the building is super cool and the location is great in Santiago. I will say that it is a very “Social” hostel, we stayed two nights. The first night we were on the top floor which is nice and quiet and away from the common areas for a good sleep at night, but the second night we were on the bottom floor and it was very loud with people walking through the hallway all night + people coning home from clubs/bars + people playing pool or games in the common rooms. I would recommend this hostel to anyone but wanted to share my advice that if you are a person that wakes up early to get out and see Santiago in the daylight then try for the second floor, but if you are a night person and social in hostel settings then go for the first floor.

United KingdomThe bedroom was quite warm at night, especially when there were lots of people staying there, so it needs a fan or air conditioning installing.
Really nice pool to relax by, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The kitchen is quite large, with plenty of space for multiple people to cook at one time.

GermanyIt can be quite noisy at night due to other travellers moving around, but that is what you get if people also enjoy their nights out. ;)
Very well located, amazing pool and other common areas, 24h reception which was really helpful for our late arrival, option to pay extra for laundry service, really friendly and nice vibe from everyone. Especially Jeferson is doing an amazing job - he helped us a lot i.e. by taking care of a parcel (with no more needed travel clothes), that we wanted to send back home before continuing the travels.

United KingdomRepairs to the bathrooms are in progress so upstairs the women seem to have both.
The pool with a bar in city centre is a gem. The battered palace with huge elegant airy rooms is wonderfully shabby chic. The cat gave it a slightly home atmosphere although it disgraced itself in the stairs. The staff works hard cleaning up the kitchen which the guests are bad at.
