Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyWe spent several days at the accommodation in San Pedro and it was perfect for us. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, and the shared area allowed us to cook our own meals and enjoy breakfast at our own pace. Manuel was incredibly helpful, answering all our questions and arranging an airport transfer to Calama, which worked out perfectly. Overall, it was an ideal stay – we’ll definitely be coming back!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a good atmosphere at the hotel. It is pleasant to cook there and meet people in the kitchen or in the shared spaces

PolandIf there is a party (and there shouldn’t be one in generał according to the hostel rules) it gets loud.
Located about 15min walk from the main street (with all of the agencies, shops and most restaurants), in a calm area. We felt very safe there and you can watch stars. The owner and his brother are very helpful and nice! You can use a common kitchen to prepare meals and there are 2 shops 3 minutes from the hostel.

United StatesHot water for a shower isn't available after a certain time. The room gets really hot during the day, and there's no fan. A bit pricey for what you get.
It's a small hostel with friendly staff, cute yard and a nice kitchen. The location is a bit out of town, but it's a flat walk. The SIM cards were a nice touch, but we couldn't figure out how to activate them. Thank you for offering free purified water!

United KingdomChile is just expensive in general, and considering the price you get a box room with nothing but a bed… not even some curtains which is surprising for the cost. San Pedro is an ok place as a stop after Bolivia but it’s very small and not a crazy amount going on.
Very backpackery, the host is super nice and we managed to communicate well despite limited Spanish. The kitchen here is very good and they offer free water

SpainNothing, the only things I’d mention is that it’s not very close to the center, it’s a 15-20 minutes walk. On the other hand it’s a very quiet place.
You can find everything you news in the kitchen to prepare your meals. There is hot water to take a shower, the place is organized and the staff is super nice and always willing to help you.

A little oasis in the desert, great for couples, friends and families. We were made to feel so welcome here. The family and staff are so friendly, nice and helpful and they gave us loads of advice and help with future travel plans. It is a cool place to spend time, the garden is cool and shaded and it has a well equipped large kitchen. 10 minute walk to the town, 1 minute from a children's play park. We were travelling with our son and the staff went above and beyond to make him feel at home, he did not want to leave! The property is secure and clean. Would highly recommend :) :) :)

NetherlandsWe were given a free prepaid simcard with 2GB because there was no WiFi, which is a nice idea, but the host did not help us to activate (while we needed internet to activate and instructions were only in spanish). We did not succeed in renting a bike from the hostel, because the organization was a bit chaotic. The advertised taxi service (Bastian Gomez) asked a higher price than advertised and although the host promised to help us, he seemed to have forgotten. The shower was rather cold, it was very hot for a few seconds (but this might be a problem in whole Atacama). Two out of four nights we had problems sleeping because of very loud noise from the neighbours (not the hostel), but we do not know if this is incidental or a structural problem (other reviews do not mention this). Most of the above points can easily be improved, so we would still recommend this hostel!
Really good kitchen with a lot of pans, knives and plates etc. We had no problems cooking here for two days. There is also free drinkable water. Nice patio to sit and relax. Very friendly and flexible hosts, although we did not know who was in charge exactly. The hostel also has bikes, they seemed to be in good condition and they have helmets. Decent matrimonial bed. The room is small, but works for 2 people. The hostal is 10-15 min walk from the center, the walk is flat.

CanadaNothing, everything was great!
I loved the vibe. It had many places to sit and chill, the rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The owner is extremely nice and was really helpful with everything. They have bikes to rent for the full day, which are much cheaper than renting from an outside company

CanadaOur stay was too short !
We booked 3 rooms of 4 persons (group of 12 people). The rooms were clean, calm, with an access to a shared kitchen (well furnished) and bathrooms. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. There is also an access to tables, barbecue and couches outside, around a fireplace. Las Casas Hostel Atacama is perfect to relax, in the shadow in the afternoon, or just to spend an evening around a campfire. It is located in a calm neighborhood, about 10-15min to the city center, and close to services. Our whole group really enjoyed its stay to Las Casas Hostel Atacama, and we will definitively come back here if we ever travel again to San Pedro de Atacama ! ;)

Wonderful, helpful and warm proprietors and a very authentic desert hostel experience. Quiet, dark and cool at night. Much to my surprise, my cautious wife is now sold on hostels and hostelers. This was the highlight of our month in Chile.
