Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe communication barrier with the female staff can be challenging, however Google Translate does the job. I did ask to not have my bed made and they still did it. Frustrating. The Wifi is poor. Cold shower 1 out of 2 times.
This guy gets a bad rap. He allowed me to tour the facility the night before. I noticed he might be cold with his guests, but I experienced nothing of the sort when I stayed with him for 4 days. He is very chill and polite. He has all of the information you want in touring the area and Chile. His hostel is very clean. The backyard setup is unique and fun, although I didn't really partake in it. I had my own bed! And they give you an extra pillow!

SwitzerlandAvoid my mistake and go to one of the tour operators – there are many to choose from, so you should be able to find something that suits you.
Very clean hostel, located quite centrally and close to the French café, but in a quiet area. The lower bunkbeds have a curtain, which is really nice. They offer tours, though I strongly advise going directly to one of the agencies in the main street, since I had an unpleasant experience (I paid upfront in the hostel, the agency that was supposed to pick me up said they did not receive any money from the hostel and cancelled my tour. When I confronted the manager about it, he threatened to kick me out of the hostel).

BrazilActually the only thing I thought a little strange is that the kitchen is locked at night, locked with a 🔐. Soooooo weird, because it's not possible to eat and drink in the bedroom, so if you feel thirsty at night you won't be able to drink anything. I've never seen this before, and I already stayed in some hostals around the world.
The space is great, there are hammocks where it's possible to relax. The hostal is big and comfortable. There is a nice kitchen and the bedrooms are good too.

United KingdomIt was a bit noisy when we were there, snoring and loud guests at early hours, but that's not really the fault of the hostel. The water, power and WiFi went down a few times whilst we were there, but usually came back on within a few hours. On a couple of occasions there was no hot water.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, helped us booking onto excursions. There was a good selection of excursions and most seemed to be competitively priced with some of the other agencies in town. The garden area was great, lots of places to sit, and a couple of hammocks where we spent a lot of our down time. Good kitchen and good value for money. There are a couple of cats that live in the hostel which were quite entertaining.

United KingdomIt lacks some facilities, such a towels to dry hands and dishes, hand soap in the bathrooms (this does exist but it’s in the kitchen) and would suggest a bigger area for preparing food. But this didn’t take away from my experience. :)
Love the location, the outdoor area is beautifully done and relaxing, with a really cool roof terrace where you get a 360 view of the surrounding landscapes. good sized rooms and comfortable clean beds. The hosts were very kind, welcoming and helpful! The cats are also lovely and playful! the bathrooms are also both good sized and very clean, with good hot water in the showers.

United KingdomI had a private room and the bathroom was a bit run down and basic. Shared kitchen could have been cleaner.
The owner was super lovely and couldn’t do enough to help and make you feel welcome. perfect location just outside of town, really sociable (the owner holds regular events like bbqs for all guests - food is amazing!) without being raucous. lovely gardens you can sit and chill out in with hammocks, swing chairs, tables and benches etc

United KingdomThe bathroom was hopeless with poor water pressure and no hot water. The kitchen was poorly equipped. The pots and pans were old and worn. There was no microwave. Worst of all, the man who runs it was rude and aggressive. We were ready to leave at 11am when he walked into our room without knocking and virtually kicked us out. I think he is in the wrong job. We paid cash but got no receipt and I've had a notification from booking.com to say the property said we didn't turn up!
The property was clean and the bed comfortable.Apart from that there is little to commend it.

ChinaThey (both the male boss and the female cleaner) play real DIRTY, a big SCAM, rude racisists, violent sexists. Not liking my attitude (neutral, not warm, no warmth from them why the guest make an effort? ), they first, without my permission, packed my clothes including underwear, then urged me to move to another room, out of shock I moved. Next day, my reservation was canceled so that i couldn't leave a reference (then I called booking's customer service). Meanwhile they accused me of moving against their policy, which was recorded by the camera: me taking my own luggage. Of course the camera didn't record they told me to do so. They spent longer than ordinaries calculating simple math regarding the change of two bottled water, refused to give me the right amount of money or listen to my explanation and even violently pushed me around with elbows, shouting: behave yourself, otherwise we'll kick you out. They did so. In the mid-day 30 degree shining sun and dry desert, I had to walk with all luggage to a new hostel. They humiliated me by accusing me speaking only English and ordered me to speak Spanish so i read from google translator like retarded, though the man speaks some. They insulted Chinese culture and language because we don't spend as much time greeting and smiling superficially. Sadly i received none here, not even efficiently getting things done. I waited 30 min to check in with no other guests in front. The key given to me is broken. I had to knock the front door, no answer for over 15 min or opened by a guest. The front desk was mostly empty, no one to answer questions or buy water from. I had to ring the bell outside to raise attention. Even i told the girl not to make my bed everyday so to relieve her workload, she insisted doing so, stubborn and not smartly working. This has been my worst experience in 10 month travel across north and south America; and worse than a decade ago my trip here.

GermanyProbably the unfriendliest welcome to a hotel/hostal I ever experienced. It’s ok for us that we arrived two hours before check in and the room was not ready yet but neither we were offered with any support to leave our luggage until the room is ready nor any other customer oriented welcome. When we came back one hour after the check in not even towels were in room. Asking for an extra towel (for hair or hands) was refused, only one towel p.P. From feedback of friends who stayed in other hostels nearby I can say you find better options for less money and will be offered with plenty of information about the area (map, restaurant recommendations, tours, transport, etc). Minutes after we checked out the booking was canceled. I guess either prevent the fees with booking.com and/or to prevent me from providing feedback.
The friendliest person was the cleaning lady.
