The stay was great, Carolina waited for us on a cold rainy night. Room was warm and the shower is good. Carolina is also a writer and we ended up buying a book she wrote about the arts in the souther regions.

It was cosy and comfortable, and suited exactly what I was looking for with a relaxing and quiet stay. The host Carolina was very friendly and knowledgeable, and gave a kind gift at the end. Villa O’Higgins itself was a lovely little spot, with mountains and glaciers surrounding the village. I should have stayed longer!

The walls are a little thin so our first night was difficult to get to sleep due to other guests up late in the lounge and quite loud. Not the fault of the hosts, but definitely inconsiderate guests.

We stayed two nights here at the “end of the road” and were very pleased with this accommodation. It was well located in the middle of town. Our room was small but adequate, and the outer “lounge” was perfect for sitting and working on our laptops. Breakfast was hearty, and they were very kind to make up a “box breakfast” for us on our second morning since we were leaving too early for breakfast (6:00 am). We were able to use their refrigerator to store some cold items we’d brought. The internet was slow to non-existent, but this is not too surprising in light of the remote location and we were fine to live without. We would certainly stay here again if in the area.

The WiFi is slow but we don't care

Very nice host. She was there for us and extremely adorable. The breakfast was amazing (the best we had in a month). The room is also comfortable and nice. The host is also making her own artisanal souvenir.

The owners are very kind and friendly. It felt like staying with friends, not a hotel. The common room and kitchen are very cozy and comfortable. We made friends with some of the other guests and shared wine and cerveza. On our last day the owner, who has published a book in Spanish and English about Villa O Higgins even made us a special treat for breakfast just to wish us a pleasant journey. A great place to stay in Villa O Higgins!

Warm water runs out if two people take a shower after each other. Be aware.

We hoped to have access to the kitchen (as is in the booking.com information) but were told it was only for tea/coffee. Instead we received excellent local advice for a place to eat.

The hostel is warm and comfortable with incredibly friendly staff. The breakfast was also superb, and we had lovely conversations with the owners who were only too helpful and kind.

Walls are a little thin so you can hear people talking in other parts of the hostal.

Carolina was a wonderfully warm host. Great recommendations for places to eat and things to do. The hostal has a good location in the centre of town. No central heating but the woodburning stove in the communal area was lovely and there were also electric heaters for keeping the rooms warm. Breakfast was delicious.

Warm, cozy, relaxed, great location, quiet, best breakfast in Patagonia, great shower, comfortable bed… really a great place to stay and hang out in Villa O’Higigns. Also, Carolina is a published author on the arts and crafts of the region and a very interesting person to talk to (even though we have minimal Spanish). Highly recommended!
