How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewUnusual and beautiful architectural building complex. Great views of Lake. Comfortable beds. WiFi terrible in room. Only able to use WiFi in common areas which had comfortable seating. Needs covered access to swimming pool given the weather conditions being cold and windy most of the time. Virtually no one dared venture outside to use the building with the pool. Quite a pity. We paid half board and were delighted with the 3 course dining options available every night which included a glass of wine. Would have been nice to have a small fridge and tea/coffee making in room. Lighting in bathroom very poor. A bit of a walk into town. We paid extra for packed lunches for one of our tours. Not bad.

Verified reviewThis lodge is beautiful! The architecture is stunning, as are the decorating choices. Really enjoyed the spa and sauna area, as well as dinner and breakfast. After a week of hiking, the comfortable bed, awesome shower and delicious food was a welcome way to end our vacation. The staff was kind and welcoming. This was one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in. The staff was cleaning floors and common areas regularly so the entire space was shiny and clean. I would absorbed stay here again and recommend it to anyone.
I have no negatives about this hotel.

Verified reviewBeautiful rooms and communal areas with gorgeous views over the water and mountains beyond. Enjoyed watching the light change over the water.
Don’t come here for the spa, although it looks lovely it isn’t well run. The indoor pool is pleasant but the outdoor jacuzzi wasn’t hot so we couldn’t use it and no explanation of when it would be hot. The sauna was good and hot (mixed sauna in the men’s changing area, the women only sauna in the women’s changing area wasn’t as hot but that might suit some people). Unfortunately the next morning the women’s sauna was hardly warm and the mixed sauna wasn’t on, I had to ask them to turn it on. We only had an hour before needing to go and checkout so it didn’t get up to temperature in that time. Both days the showers in the men and women’s bathrooms didn’t have hot water.

Verified reviewThe lodge is very pretty. The decoration is beautiful. The bed is very comfortable and the views are amazing from both the facilities and the room. The staff at the restaurant were very nice. The dinner buffet was very good, nice selection of Chilean wines.
• Their policy is not to have wifi in the rooms. We were okay with that, a little detox can be nice. However, wifi signal was quite poor in the common areas. • The staff at the reception was not particularly hospitable or warm. They were helpful though. • FYI - Laundry service was quite expensive (almost 3,000 pesos for a piece of underwear) We were also not happy with the spa facilities and services. There were small details that did not allow us to fully relax: • You have to walk outside for a minute from the hotel to the spa which was not very nice as it was raining and very windy. They could offer an umbrella to walk outside for example. • It was quite cold inside the spa facilities. Some people (including us) had to ask for an additional towel to get covered from the cold but after a couple of people asked they mentioned out of the blue the policy was to give 1 towel per person. • There was no hot water in the showers of the spa during our stay - even after complaining about it. The staff pretended that it did work. • The unisex sauna was turned off so it took a while to get warm. • The bowl and spoon to pour water on the coals in the sauna were broken. • We got two massages of 50 min. After the massage therapists were 10 min late, we both got our massage. • My partner’s therapist got confused and stopped the massage after 30 min and left the room. My partner told her that the massage was 50 min so she continued but did not follow the massage style my partner requested. • We also had some difficulties in booking a massage even if we asked it in advance via Booking. All in all, the hotel is nice but needs some improvements in the spa area.

Verified reviewWe came to Remota to relax after running all over the country, to include Patagonia. We loved that it was in walking distance to the town, had a spa, where we enjoyed a wonderful massage, and had incredible views! Food was excellent, too! There are many places in the lobby ( check out the second floor, too) to read and relax. We had a slight issue with something not working and the manager, Carmen, went above and beyond to solve the issue and compensate us for it. We recommend staying here.

Verified reviewRooms and breakfast were great
Unfortunately, the service in the hotel was very poor: - I contacted the hotel ahead of the stay to reserve a table for dinner, book spa services and inquire about the laundry turnaround time. All of these were declined by the hotel saying I should ask during checkin. Consequently, we had to look in town for dinner, spa and laundry, which made the whole stay at this expensive hotel pointless. - There was NO WIFI IN THE ROOM - In the spa, I was not allowed to use the jacuzzi as it is required to pre-book it. However, the jacuzzis were empty at that time and no one told us about this stupid requirement before. Also they refused giving me a second towel, which is ridiculous for a spa with a sauna, where people naturally need two towels. Finally, the sauna was in very poor condition and had no sound isolation, so I was able to hear the conversation among the staff loud and clear. Overall, I can only say: DONT STAY HERE

Verified reviewRustic alpine lodge appearance. Large rooms. Close to airport and city center
No elevators. Stone floor corridors sloping. No marking on edges where floor dropped off. A tourist almost fell. Lighting in the room was poor.

Verified reviewIt is beautiful and the staff was very friendly. The pool was nice and the food is good
The hotel is a mile and a half from town which is just far enough that going to get dinner without a car is a little hard. The walk takes you up their narrow, windy driveway and cars go very fast past you with low visibility. The hotel restaurant is often full with large tour groups so options are limited.
