However, with the windows open, the high ceilings of the bedrooms, and a breeze, it was cool enough that we had a sound sleep every night when we stayed in December. Sometimes, we didn't have warm/ hot water, especially after someone just took a hot shower. Then, we would have to wait a while for hot water.
The place was clean. We only had four people, so the 6 beds were more than enough. The beds had crisp and clean sheets. Each room had dressers, hangers and luggage racks for our clothes and belongings. The kitchen has a stove, cooking and eating utensils and a fridge and freezer. We bought granola, cereal, eggs, yogurt and ice cream from a grocery market within waking distance to have for breakfast, as some of the tours we signed up for left early in the morning before any restaurant opens. The bathroom was very spacious. It is located within the bedroom that has the queen sized bed. Some people might find that inconvenient, as the people in the other bedroom would have to walk into that bedroom to get to the bathroom. However, we were fine with that setup. The location is a short walk to the main street, Caracoles, so it's easy to find a restaurant, do souvenir shopping or do comparison shopping between the numerous tour agencies. The hostel staff was very helpful. Although they didn't speak English and my Spanish is very limited, we were able to communicate using Google Translate. Lorena stayed up past 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve to check us in, as we arrived on a late flight. Lorena did our laundry at a reasonable price. Lorena kindly made herself available at 6 a.m. to help call a taxi for us in the event our reserved airport transfer didn't come through and she was so considerate in lending us a battery operated light to use to make ourselves visible while waiting for our airport transfer in the early morning before the sunrise.

Location , peaceful, staff helpful, request were attended to , communicated good and timely, kitchen had all you needed, it was rustic but what do you expect in the atacama desert, premises securer with nice out door seating relaxing areas in shade

An oasis after spending the days exploring. Property in great location from bus station, close to town but far enough away from central area with bars. Bed firm, units with enough equipment supplied for basic meal preparation. The host Marcela is very helpful.
