Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Vik Hotel is a work of art and the service is perfect. Beautiful spacious room with a view (the bathroom was so pretty), delicious food and, obviously, amazing wine. We had a wonderful time.

GermanyWe loved everything. To start the hotel is an architectural marvel. Beautiful grounds and views of the vineyards. The room we had was very comfortable, beautiful. Great views. It was difficult to leave! The staff were very professional, frienfly, and helpful. From the hotel staff to the maintenance team. Spent a whole day by the pool, where sunset is visible. The wine was excellent (we did the full package) It was a perfect stay

BrazilUnfortunately, the water smell in the bathroom/washrooms is unpleasant. Something like iron/sulfur.
Vik Chile is superb. The architecture, the surroundings, the artwork, the extremely friendly and helpful staff, and great wine and food. It is wonderful, wonderful. I enjoyed every minute, from the arrival to the beautiful room, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast and meals, and the visit to the vines. It is an incredible and unforgettable place.

United StatesSome areas of the property need to be updated, no real bar area, only one main restaurant… other restaurants should also be available all day too.
Location, limited number of people… more privacy, artwork was amazing, winery, cuisine was above average.

United KingdomWe went for the all-inclusive package - which was extremely expensive. I did not rate it highly on a value for money basis. We were allocated rooms separate from the property - which was a bit disappointing. We would rather have been in the rooms at the hotel.
The location was great, food, wine activities all good. The staff were lovely and allowed us to check in early after a long flight from LHR and drive from Santiago. That was really appreciated. Wine tour was great. A lovely experience overall.

BrazilThe menu / food of MILLA MILLA and PAVILION should be reviewed to be more in line with all the good things that the VIK hotel offers. There is a degustation (course) menu but for those that want an alternative, there are not that many options. Just a recommendation to align gastronomy experience w/ all the oter
The personnel service, installation, activities, location, landscape, were all good. Our suite BOHOPOP was amazing, very well decorated and with a view that takes your breath away. We had a SPA massage (VIK EXPERIENCE) that was our best ever!!!! Not to mention the great WINES of VIK!

United StatesService was good but not as exceptional as you would expect from a hotel as luxurious as this and expensive as this. Spa was okay. Not a true spa.
Architecture and interior design are best of the best. Absolutely top notch. A sight to behold! it was like living in an AD magazine. Definitely the best part of the experience.

SpainIt is not cheap and whilst we had paid for the full experience we did not have a chance to benefit from the activities and could not eat the included lunch at the hotel on any of the days. They did give us a free massage for one day and a packed lunch on the other as compensation however. Our room (Minimalist) was perfect, but each room is uniquely decorated and many may not be to everyone’s taste..
A simply fantastic location with breathtaking views. Very attentive staff. Excellent breakfast. Fixed dinner perfect for me - quality rather than quantity. Excellent wines! Great infinity pool, good for laps. Nice gym and yoga a room.

The first nights food was very average but the second night the food was very good. Our bathroom was beautiful but we had no hot water to bath the first night!

BrazilWe were frustrated with the overall experience. It is a very expensive hotel and we paid full experience, however, when got there, we were told there was no available time for the tasting, only 10AM on the following day. The only available time for dinner would be 7:30PM and we were not allowed to have lunch since it was already 2pm and the restaurant would close at 2:30PM. After I insisted for 45 minutes, they included us in the 3PM wine tasting that they said was full, however when we got there, only 10 people (none of them guest), even though the table fits 24 people. When we were back in the hotel, we went to the pool and only after 2 hours and a lot of requests we were able to get served. On the following day, I requested several times for a 2018 bottle I wanted to buy. I always got the answer there was no available even though when I was paying the bill, there was one over there available they said was just for decoration. I asked to buy and they said no, but offer me the option to buy a 2018 in Brazil. On the following day, when I returned to Brazil and called the Brazil operation, I was told 2018 was also not available. Summarizing, a lot of frustration. You pay full experience and you expect to have a customized service. They sent me an email prior to my arrival only to offer bottles to buy. They could have asked for the agenda to block the available times of tasting, dinner and other since I would be a guest. Not sure I would recommend. Very overprice for the service offered.
Comfort, structure, view. The place is amazing. The bedrooms are amazing. The winery is very beautiful.

Czech RepublicFor the price, the service and food is very average. Servers need a lots of training. They are super nice and work hard but they don’t know what they are doing and it doesn’t have a 5* standard by any means. Dinner service we experienced was very chaotic, food came cold, no fork on tables, no wine with courses . Fun fact: You are on a vineyard but you cannot taste all of their wines by the glass. Only the low-end stuff.
Design is stunning! Everywhere you look there is a picturesque view. Horseback riding and wine tour were amazing, great hosts from Finland and Sweden. Had lots of fun.

BrazilFor the price, I expected much better service. The staff where very pleasant but there should be more training on how to interact with clients. Example 1: We paid for an all inclusive plan and therefore expected to simply relax and enjoy the experience (room, breakfast, lunch, dinner, tours, etc) but at every lunch and dinner we were repeatedly reminded that the tip was not included in the amount we had paid, so much so that it became a nuisance. No need to be reminded more than once at every meal. Example 2: We went for a horse ride through the vineyards, our handler was very kind but you had to beg him to give you some information on what you were seeing, the history of the place and even the name of the horses. Basic stuff, but that for a place that charges more than USD 1k/night should be a given. Two more areas to improve: (1) we had lunch at the hotel twice and both times the restaurant smelled like fried food (need to fix the exhaust system coming from the kitchen). Problem was not present at dinner. (2) The hotel has a wonderful infinity edge pool, with a breathtaking view. One catch: it´s not heated so there is no way for someone would go in, way too cold! Everyone that arrived at the hotel asked about this. Again, for the price charged, a mildly heated pool is not asking much. Just ask any ski resort hotel.
Beautiful hotel, great architecture/art. Amazing views. Wonderful wine tasting experience inside the wine cellar. Great food, with some really special presentations.
