Mr. Lee was incredibly kind and helpful - he personally picked us up at the airport and then even dropped us off at the train station at the end of our stay. The hotel was cosy, clean and full of charm. Great location and warm hospitality made us feel right at home. Highly recommend staying here! I hope to revisit one day!

AustraliaI think Mr Lee has a bigger plan for the new property, as there are kitchen, dining area, and a very nice sitting area in the new property, but he was not ready yet, and disappointed not to enjoy those facilities.
Mr Lee - the owner of the place had upgraded our booking to another of his property just few doors away from Courtyard Shangri-la. It is a much bigger and newer property - actually everything looked new. Mr Lee had given us a big penthouse with sitting and ensuite downstair and a big area on the upper floor with 2 queen beds, another sitting / TV area, a large writing table, huge bathtub, and another toilet. This room can in fact stay for at least 4 persons comfortably. The property was clean, very comfortable and very quiet. It also feel secure and exclusive. Taxi or Didi can just reach up to the entrance of the property, so it is also very convenient in that sense. Mr Lee has been very kind to offer to pick us up at the train station when we arrived and drop us off when we left with his nice big 4WD. We can also enjoy our coffee at Courtyard Shangri-la in the morning for free. The property is a bit out of the busy area of Dukezong Ancient City but it is better as it is more peaceful with less people. It also has a very nice view to the Big Buddha Temple at Guishan Park in the Ancient Town (from the upper floor) - particularly when the lights are on, fantastic view! Note that this IS NOT about Courtyard Shangri-la but another newer property of the same owner. Thanks to Mr Lee for his hospitality. If I ever return to Shangri-la City, I will certainly contact Mr Lee again.

This place is sooo amazing 🤩 it is a Tibetan inspired stay, it’s clean 5⭐️ (not dusty,did not trigger my sinus ⭐️) clean bed sheets. the highlight is it has a heated bed and floor which is god sent during snow or cold weather. Toiletries and towel provided, has a kettle in the room and some candy. Good shampoo and body wash. The location is strategic, near the ancient town, lot of food shops, walking distance The owner is so charming (and handsome like a movie star 🌟 haha) he is able to communicate in English, and he is so kind to pick us and drop us at the train station early morning 🥹 -No insects seen during my whole stay -No paranormal activity 😆

A wonderful welcome by this nice young couple who has beautifully transformed this old, wooden house into an oasis of calm in the old city of Shangrila. Bedding and showering are also very pleasant.

The hotel is so pretty and the staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Just a short walk to the main shopping street with lotsa food options. Rooms were tastefully decorated with views. The floor has heating and there’s electric blankets as well to keep us warm AND 3 ADORABLE CATS

SingaporeThe day we arrived nobody was at the counter as a ghost hotel. We were received by a maid who only spoke chinese and apparently did not even get that we could not speak chinese. Then the room was decent, but the curtains were dirty so I could help but I was grossed out by that and the stay was unpleaseant. No breakfast, no coffee. They just booked a cab and paid for it to make up for the inconvenience we had once arrived.
