Reviews of Dali Buxianshan Boutique Guesthouse-in Dali ancient city

Good quiet location, although cannot be dropped, or picked up there by car. We were helped to rent eBikes and find a car with driver. There is a washing machine which can be used. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Apart from free water, there are no food or beverages available. It is a short walk to good local noodle shops, but bakeries and coffee chops seem to open later than breakfast time!

Our host, Echo, was fabulous, she spent her day off driving us around Ancient Towns and Hot Springs. We love you Echo x

The host is expectional and will go all her way out to help no matter when. She's super kind and friendly. Speaks a bit of English and we maninly use transalator so to ensure communication is right.

The hotel is everything you need it to be. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The shower has good water pressure. Laundry is self service and free with plenty of space to hang it on the roof. The location is especially great with lots of great restaurants near by and the ancient town only a short walk away. The two girls on reception were also very helpful!

It is quite difficult to find (I have attached some photos from each street corner to help future guests). We had to ask someone to help us but even they said that the address on booking.com is incomplete, so he called the property and took us to the corner where one of the reception girls met us. Apart from the room (which was great) the rest of the property could use a bit of TLC. The shared areas (living room and kitchen) need some attention (they are messy and unclean). We also had a yoghurt stolen from the fridge (so make sure you put anything you want to store in there in a bag). The air conditioner in our room also needed some maintenance (it leaked almost our entire stay and we were just told to put the bin under it). Not huge issues, just things to keep in mind ☺️

Vicinity to the old town

Perfect. Quiet and peaceful in the middle of bustling Dali Ancient Town. Room was nicer than most apartments! Contained within a courtyard wall are small outdoor seating areas and a rooftop laundry room. Close to North Gate, this place is a perfect base for exploring all of Ancient City as well as trekking further afield to Chongshen Si and San Ta (about half an hour walk). Scores of restaurants within seconds of walking out of the alley. Staff is exceptionally warm and helpful. The manager has tons of advice for exploring Dali as well as nearby environs.

Not really a complaint, but you'll need a bit of luck to find the entrance. Walk down 平等东路 (east) until you think you're on the wrong track, and then you'll see the square yellow sign 不羡山。

Its location nestled in a little lane was perfect for my sister and I, whom prefer the quiet and enjoy walking around the old town. This guesthouse is steps away from many eateries (yummy local dishes!) and within walking distance to the local market (where we bought lots of fresh fruits). The manager Xiao Huang was very helpful in arranging transportation for us and suggesting places to dine and visit; thank you!

A gem of a place, great accomodating service and in a lovely quiet alley. Beautiful furnishing, touches and landscape.

Good location, near the old town, very good restaurants nearby. The most important is the lady working there very nice, very helpful. She woke up in early hour, called the taxi, lead us to meeting point . The best of the best.

I had an absolutely amazing stay in this beautiful guesthouse, especially thanks to kind English-speaking girls in the staff. I got sick and the owner kindly went with me to the hospital and translated everything for me. I truly feel so lucky as it's rare to find English speakers in this region. Thank you so much for your kindness and help!! The room is also very beautifully decorated and has all the amenities needed. The location is great. I highly recommend it!

One of the best value for the price of Dali. The host is so welcoming and thank you to LoLo nd Meya for their kindness. I'll definitely come back to this place if I'll come to Dali.

Staff helped with our luggages from the main road to the lodging in the allay. There are plenty of eateries nearby.

1. Near Dali ancient city. 15 minutes walk to foreigner steet. Halal restaurant also 10 mjnutes walk. 2. Host is very attentive to questions and is very helpful 3. Can do laundry for free 4. Antique and ancient house design, however heater and electric blanket is functioning

1. No immediate access to the guesthouse. Its a 1 minute walk from the main road 2. Ongoing consruction nearby. Can be quite dusty 3. Toilet has no door and is covered by a curtain 4. Rooms are situated in the 1st/ 2nd floor and there is no lift

Very cosy and quiet guesthouse. The staff, Miss Young was very helpful even though we communicated using the translator app. We arrived late at Dali train station and she arranged for a taxi to pick us up and waited by the roadside to bring us to the guesthouse. She even helped book our taxi to the train station again. Keep up the good work.
