The arrangement of the old courtyard rooms bust have been challenging and I can fully understand it, but the postioning of the toilet and the transparent bathroom door just give very little privacy, even considering the fact that you travel with your closest ones.

It's the ultimate Chinese courtyard experience. The staff is very helpful and the location right in the centre but still shielded from the hustle and bustle of the main streets is beyond perfect.

Dali is full of mosquitos in the summer and the old house is not so good at preventing them from entering the room

It's a pity that the local authorities do not allow for air conditioning to be installed inside the Ancient City, but the hotel provided fans & weather is quite cool at night

It is like you stepped into the Chinese old movie. That's how I felt when we entered the hotel. The hotel was built more than 100 years ago. No worries, the moment you enter the room, you will be amazed by how beautiful and cosy the room is. The hotel itself is inside the ancient city, which makes you easier to roam around the ancient city area. Oh ya, car cannot enter to the hotel location, but the hotel staff will pick you up and help you with the luggage at the nearest pick-up point. If you are looking for Chinese old movie vibes, you can stay in this hotel.

A very charming courtyard hotel, beautiful decorations in the room. The staff was so helpful. They organized the airport pick-up for me which was very smooth. The room directly faced the beautiful courtyard. They provided tea in the room, and umbrellas when it was raining. The location is very central, and the room was so quiet. It was a perfect stay.

The mosquito net around the bed was a little unnecessary - but basically no complaints.

Beautiful place set around a courtyard on a quiet road just off the main drag - so very convenient but still quiet. The staff went out of her way to pick us up and see us off. The room was a bit eccentric but lovely - old style at first glance but lovely modern bathroom. Breakfast was fine - all the necessary was there. It looks authentic and atmospheric but still all the mod cons.

Sound insulation. Especially when the guest above walk, the ceiling will creak. Facility is abit old, the shower door couldnt close fully, there is a gap in the seal which causes water to splash out even though the shower door is close. Water temperature is not consistent.

The rustic look and feel of ancient Chinese house with a courtyard. Nice renovation with modern convenience that retained the ancient look. Very friendly and accommodation and staff, plus a room dedicated to display Chinese culture - where one can learn calligraphy and guqin (a plucked seven-string Chinese musical instrument).

The place is in the heart of the old town, in a small alley where it’s quiet and there’s no traffic or street stalls to bother you. The room was really beautiful, in traditional Chinese style, and had everything we needed — including a bathtub and heated floor. The staff was very nice. We had a bit of trouble asking for a taxi because only one woman spoke good English.

Old town does not allowed vehicles in, a fair bit of walking to the main street to get public transport e.g. taxi.

Staff was friendly, extremely helpful and patient. Location in the middle of old town, lots of restaurants, shops, etc. We loved living in an historical preserved courtyard house. Breakfast was ok, local warm cooked food as well as bread. Local coffee was very good.

Location is excellent as it is in the center of the Old Town. The hotel is quiet and full of history inside over 200 years old. Staff are very helpful. They can pick up your luggage with trolley at the closest entrance of the Old Town since cars are prohibited to drive in the town. Breakfast are delicious especially the rice noodles soup. By staying there, I feel like I am going back to 200 years ago.
