United StatesThe breakfast food was good but not as good as at some other places we stayed. We also had a bad experience with one dish at the restaurant. While it was peaceful staying in the Colonial District we also missed being more immersed in Chinese street life.
The location was great. It was convenient to the metro and was in a lovely old colonial neighborhood. The rooms and service were also very good. Some of the staff spoke English while others used a translation app. We were happily surprised to find a rooftop pool!

We loved this hotel! We had a wonderful view over Quangzhou. The bed was large and comfortable. We could control the AC. There was a fridge and kettle in the room.The staff had enough English and sent up fruit and a knife as well as a plate for no cost.The best thing was the location- easy walking in quiet attractive neighbourhood very accessible to old town.

SingaporeBuffet breakfast is available for 79 yuan (after 10 per cent discount for guests). There is a nice heritage museum in the hotel that details its history. Great location to explore Shamian Island and Shisanhang Museum. It is near Xidi Wharf where I took a 50-minute long cruise along the Pearl River. Close to both Huangsha and Cultural Park subway stations.

EstoniaThe wifi was very poor. Wasnt possible to watch even tv due to poor connection. The room was set to 21C and for us it was a bit too cold. Was not possible to raise temperature.
Perfect location on Shamian island which is one of must visit place itself. 10 min walk to Shangxiajiu pedestrian street for shopping, 15-20 min walk to Old Town and Moon Bridge. Riverside just 5 min with restaurants. The hotel itself was colonial style, nice and decent, smelled for candy. The bed was comfy, service was great and proactive. The hotel solved quickly the issue with barking dog next room! I like the small feature in the room- going to toilet during a night the small ambient light was automatically turned near floor, nice.

Based on the photos, I thought we would be at an old fashioned hotel. However, the deluxe room was so well designed and updated in a very nice Chinese style, as were the hallways leading to the various rooms. I appreciated that the air conditioning was also very powerful, which helped during the hot weather.

United KingdomI can hear traffic from my room during night even though it is not right next to a busy road, maybe the sound proof is not great. one day I was woken up by someone next door watching TV at early morning. Maybe because I am not used to noise during night.
Location is very convenient, close to the city centre, and relatively quiet for a busy city. Staff are friendly and helpful. The building has an interesting character. Nice surroundings.
