How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified review- The hosts are very very nice, friendly and helpful - The simple chinese style breakfast was nutritious, cheap, varied everyday and tasted good - Modern, clean bathroom - High CP value
- Room quite small and crampy - Wall in the room not clean - Bed was very hard (the hardest in our life and we travel a lot worldwide) - Location is far away from metro and city centre. You have to take taxi or didi everywhere. But we knew this before and it was not a problem for us
Hello, thank you for your review. The room you are staying in has 1.8-meter+1.5-meter beds, each with its own independent space. In China, the vast majority of people are not accustomed to sleeping on very soft mattresses. Our hotel's mattress is a branded mattress: Shangchi, which belongs to the moderate hardness category in our country and is acceptable to the majority of people. The walls of the room are designed in graffiti style. As the hotel is located within the West Lake scenic area, subway repairs are not allowed. The nearest subway station and taking a taxi to the city center are the starting prices, but you can also take a bus at the entrance.

Verified reviewStaff (although communicating only in Chinese) has been very friendly, helping out to find buses, places and giving tips. The hotel is located in the West Lake area, at few steps from the forest and few minutes walk to the lake. Bus stop is at 2 minutes, but service stops at 7pm. Therefore taxi is needed to come back in the evening (not a problem using Didi ride app). Very good breakfast and nice welcome.

Location- not a very convenient location for foreigners especially where everything needs to confirm via WeChat or Alipay. Not many E hailing drivers would like to pick up and send to this location. As we been turned down twice. According to the staff, mostly their guest would have a car - I assume they are china guests. Also I realised what they advertised on booking.com is not quite the same as the actual property’s location. I steered to have doubts with all these china air bnb ad. Better stay in a world branded hotel even a 4 star is much trust worthy

Verified reviewThe staff were all very friendly and helpful. I particularly appreciated the visit and transportation information provided by Ms. Zhou. The room is small but clean and cozy. The simple breakfast is inexpensive, just RMB 10. We enjoyed our early morning breakfast in open-air. One of the staff even went out to show us the Sakura garden with species from all over the world.
The wi-fi was absolutely hopeless. Make sure you have your digital card. Traffic jams are very serious in all the roads around Xiwu (the West Lake). You can consider ride a bike.

Verified reviewThe location is walking distance from the lake and leifeng pagoda. The property is cozy, easy to access, clean and have 1st floor room which very good for one who doesnt want to climb the stairs. The staff very helpful, kind and enjoyable to talk to, Lulu & Rongrong (hope I pronounce correctly😄) is very nice, give me some sweet, give travel point info, for foringer who traveling with no chinese speaking i think i feel the most comfortable to communicate here. The room was cozy and clean, bathroom & toilet is new and clean, happy stay for overall 🫶🏻

Verified reviewThe bathrooms were excellent - it was winter and the hotel had installed a hot air blow in the shower cubicle. It was so clean and very nicely arranged. Even the room slippers were of good quality. Towels were thick. The reception staff (Rong Rong and Lulu) were so helpful and kind. They paid attention to our needs and could recommend places to eat and best sites in Hangzhou to visit. My mother in law had a fall and they went with us to the clinic to see that she was attended to well.
Thank you very much for your high opinion on the courtyard. Our hotel is located in the center of the West Lake scenic area, on the south side of West Lake. It takes about 8-10 minutes to walk to the Flower Harbor Fish Park, one of the ten scenic spots of West Lake, about 15 minutes to walk to the Sudi, about 20 minutes to walk to the Lei Feng Pagoda, and a straight distance of 2.7 kilometers (10 minutes by car) from Lingyin Temple. It is very convenient to go to various scenic spots and is known for its tranquil environment. Every employee in our store is very willing to help customers plan and recommend their travel routes. If you have any questions, just ask us. Our hotel was renovated in 2019, and after careful design by professional designers, we chose a light luxury style overall. We used Kohler sanitary ware for all the sanitary ware, Shangchi mattresses for the mattresses, and bedding and disposable items were equipped according to the 4-star standard. We have experienced and experienced every item carefully, Just put into the room for use, every detail is carefully considered and scrutinized, although simple, it is not simple and crude.
