How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Fishy smell surrounding the hotel and entrance to hotel lobby, due to the fish market beside on it. Luckily the room is clean dont have the smell.
Near Subway station and room was clean and modern ID. Near to the few old districts which we enjoyed to explore it.

The smell and water from fish market next door as you get into/out of the building. The 270 view room which overlooks a big road with lots of traffic, and the river view is way further

The outlook of the hotel is terrible, The access to the hotel is very dirty and the road is damaged. Adjacent to the hotel are several fish wholesalers which causes the atmosphere around very smelly.
Though the room is not big but the design and facilities is impressive. There is sound control as well.The room is very clean. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The location is very good and can get to the MTR and Shamein island within few minutes walk.

There were no windows in our room, but fake light-wells instead, which was very odd. We hadn't been alerted to that, and found it a bit weird and uncomfortable.
The hotel was very clean and tidy and the staff were super helpful. The room was very high tech which was fun. The location being near Shamian Do was great, and being near the fish market was interesting.

Don't understand why a big window instead of solid wall, everyone can see the room situation at corridor, the feeling is not so good. (Although a curtain is equipped)
Overall, the breakfast is acceptable and the location is good, nearby the MTR. But no clear indication from MTR exit.

The hotel is next to a fish market. It is bit smelly and messy outside of the hotel. But inside is fine.
The hotel located just next to the metro station. There is a big shopping mall opposite the hotel. Just a short walk to shamian island where there are also many nice restaurants. The room we stayed is not big, but very clean. The personell is very friendly and helpful.

We had an inside room so the mobile signal was almost non-existant. What's more the hotel's WIFI didn't work so lack of connectivity was a problem.
Friendly staff, very comfortable and clean room.

Breakfast is till 11oclock but many of the popular items run out by 9 clock and they hardly bring out any replacments.even about juices u have to ask.if this was handled better the place could have 10 rating

We didn’t love the location. It’s a 30min taxi or 45min metro ride from Guangzhou South station and whilst it’s near Shamiando Island, the island is quite quiet on a winters evening so we ended up getting a 30min taxi back somewhere that felt more central with more life. Maybe because we couldn’t speak the language but it’s not an area where you can step outside and find lots of things to do.
Good value for money. Clean, comfortable rooms and a nice breakfast in the morning.

The breakfast could be served with a little bit more love. One family-size coffee machine is not enough for a hotel.
The hotel is located next to the picturesque island and a short walk to the historic Liwan road, which makes it a perfect location for those interested in the less commercial side of Guangzhou. The lovely staff is ready to solve all your problems any time of the day.

Unfortunately, next to the hotel is a fish market. the smell from outside is not nice sometimes. But it is fine once you get into the hotel. Another set of washing machine and dryer may be needed.
Good breakfast. Free simple meals after 8pm. Staffs are nice. Walking distance to tourism hotspot Yongqingfang. Cross tunnel to other side of street, there is a huge shopping mall. Subway is also not far away.

A very nice room, clean well organized, with gadgets. Many light buttons, it take a while before you know them all Even a Beamer in the room, which we did not use. It’s very close to a subway station (2 lines). Take exit F, but after a while take a long corridor on the left. The area around the hotel is not very appealing, and the smelly fish market is nearby, but indoor you don’t smell that. The breakfast is quite okay, not very special but sufficient. English at the front desk is minimal… A good price/quality ratio
