Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeTo be honest there isn’t a lot to do at the resort. The spa is quite overpriced for Hainan, swimming is not permitted at all (many large signs warning of strong undercurrents and riptides), and apart from the usual pool table and a couple short cultural activities you’re left with lounging around the villa/infinity pool all day. the large beachfront pool was also closed during the entirety of our stay due to maintenance, which was disappointing. Pretty much the only main attraction in the vicinity is Boundary Island (I did two guided dives to see a total of 4 (intentionally sunk) shipwrecks for 80USD total(!)) beyond that you’d probably have to hop on a train to sanya or further to the national park etc. The food here was also not amazing (apart from the generous buffet breakfast spread). The two restaurants are not cheap and dishes are only middling. The beach bar is entirely dead. I wonder what the other guests had for lunch and dinner.. maybe they take a taxi out into town, which is some distance away. That said, we would still absolutely recommend this resort given the excellent price point, especially for couples looking for a quiet, beautiful and relaxing stay away from the hustle and bustle of Sanya.
This villa-only resort is beautiful and well maintained generally. I think its main selling point is excellent privacy/an escape from the crowds of sanya and spacious villas for very good value. We stayed from Friday to Saturday in mid April and the resort felt pretty much deserted (we saw an average of <50 people around each day, including at breakfast. On all three days, we were the only people in the gigantic infinity pool the two hours before sunset, which was pretty Incredible! There were only 1-2 other tables at the only restaurant at dinner. It appears that mainland tourists, who make up a majority of the clientele here, are not a fan of swimming or being out in the sun (all the better for the rest of us!). The private beach is extensive and very peaceful, with good soft sand. The concierge can be reached directly via WeChat and has been very helpful throughout our stay. They also offer a complimentary 30min photoshoot session which looked quite professional! Accessibility was good with a 90min train ride from the Haikou airport, followed by a 20min free resort shuttle transfer. The villas are well maintained and in good condition, and very generously sized with a tucked away entrance for privacy. Though we were told that the ceiling fan installed in the patio is apparently “decorative” and could not be turned on, which is rather strange! We had booked an oceanfront villa (which is actually about 50m from the beach with 0 view of the sea- I guess we had a different interpretation in mind when booking haha). The 50m stretch of lawn between the villa and the beach is designated for outdoor weddings, which apparently is very popular at the resort- there were 4 scheduled during our 2 night stay! We had just settled in for a nap after check in when the wedding host’s voice came booming through the loudspeakers for the first wedding’s march-in, followed by music, cheering and clapping, which definitely killed all peaceful retreat vibes.

SwitzerlandThe chaises longues by the beach should have a mattress, the wood alone is not very comfortable when you want to stay long.

AustraliaSince there is limited food options around and the local transportation service is not well developed, If they could provide shuttles to main eatery areas, or Qingshui wan (one busy business district at the beach), which will be more convenient for people who doesn’t come here with a car
Peaceful surroundings with nature and animals , lovely staff with a smile on the face and always try to help, beautifully designed hotel to make you feel like a retreat in the oasis, complimentary extras , such as free shuttle to railways station, free mini bar and welcome fruits , daily free activities to make the most of your stay

RussiaThough the staff if very friendly it is a nonsense that nobody speaks English at all. Every time you need to use an online translator even to make an order. The beach is very beautiful but it is restricted to swim, and you get this info only upon arrival. For some travelers it might be a disappointment.
Villas are spacious and hideaway from each other. Rooms are well equipped. A private pool makes a stay more comfortable. Menus both at breakfast and dinner are various and delicious, including both Asian and European meals.

NetherlandsSeveral comments : 1. It was disappointing to discover only UPON arrival that swimming in the sea is not allowed at Narada Resort. This should have been mentioned in the site description. 2. I think the airport transfer should be more often. Only four transfers per day force guests either to wait long or to take a taxi. 3. It would be good if the Resort could provide maps and more touristic information about the Hainan island. 4. For such high-level and expensive resort I would expect personnel to be able to communicate in English that was not the case.
Everything was excellent! Thank you !

RussiaLiterally no one speaks English - not a big deal if you’re using Alipay or any other translator app. Not too much of European food. Local cuisine is delicious, but it’s hardly possible to understand sometimes how the food would look and taste like before you order. Adding pictures of food to the menu would help a lot!
There’s about 100 villas so the resort is pretty large. Our villa was great as well as our own ~20m private pool. Staff was friendly and helpful. Several restaurants were just fine, room service available

Very quiet area near to Sanya. Very beautiful hotel with spacious villas. I travelled with my parents, and we all enjoyed it very much. The photos we took by the photographer there are amazing, highly recommended to use them to capture some unique moments. We have recommended this hotel to friends and family, who have booked their trip there as well!

LuxembourgFirst problem: Communication with staff is a big challenge for Europeans! They hardly speak English or any other European language. It's fun to use translation apps on mobile all the time. Since translations are not always accurate, misunderstandings occur from time to time. The staff tries hard to be professional. TV content captions are also just in Chinese. The second problem: Internet speed. Wi-Fi practically does not work. As a solution, we choose to rent Pocket WiFi in Hong Kong especially for China. Its quality was better, but not enough.
The concept of the resort is individual villas with their own special infrastructure and their own aura. It is located right on the seashore. The area is well planted. Traditional interior. Very comfortable beds. Our villa had its own pool (unheated) and jacuzzi with warm water. 2 large terraces. You can have your own dinner on one of the terraces, which will be bought from the restaurant. The large communal pool has a great view of the sea. Welcome Fruit's Basket content was updated regularly. Breakfast has a huge selection of dishes if you are a fan of Asian food. European travelers can also find their favorites. Everything is fresh. Great selection of fresh juices. After the first request, we were provided with a private transfer from/to the airport. Since our plane was delayed, free late check out until 16.00 was granted without undue delay.
