Staff does not speak english and has very little experience. Window could not close but this was solved by the manager by providing us with a different room. Water pressure in shower is low.

Good size room, many small size shops and eateries in the neighborhood. Verily helpful manager with very good English language skills. Enjoyed the breakfast.

Unfortunately, the staff does not speak English at all - with a few exceptions - but fortunately they are very good at using translators available on mobile devices.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are clearly focused on helping their guests. The hotel is located in a very good place - close to interesting places in Xiamen. The rooms are clean, comfortable, quiet. I definitely recommend it!

None of the 6-7 staff that I encountered spoke English. Breakfast ok but not great. Lights in room and ac fan not helping for sleep

The gym was not set up yet when I stayed there; it would have been nice to exercise in the hotel since there aren’t good options for jogging right nearby.

Perfect location close to the pier and to Zhongshan Road. The staff very kindly accommodated me when I wanted to extend by an extra night during a busy season, finding me a suitable new room at a lower price than my original room. Everything in the hotel was new, well-functioning, and convenient.

As an experienced world traveler, I can confidently say that this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at in China. The room was spotless, tidy, and equipped with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. On top of that, the room was cleaned thoroughly every day, which I greatly appreciated. The service was absolutely excellent, with thoughtful touches like ginger tea, face masks, and even the option to do your laundry – incredibly convenient if you’re traveling for an extended period. The bistro at the hotel was also a great spot to relax with a nice cup of coffee or a drink. The breakfast was fantastic, offering plenty of choices. The hotel’s location is very central, making it easy to get around. What truly made my stay unforgettable was the incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful staff. Their warm approach immediately made me feel at home. Finally, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the hotel manager, who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. Their professionalism and hospitality are truly exceptional. If I ever return to Xiamen, I will undoubtedly choose this hotel again Thank you for a truly wonderful stay!

Everything you could ask for and more for a 3* hotel. Staff were very helpful. Location seems inconspicuous until you walk 5 mins up the road and find a major walking street/shopping area. Room facilities are well thought out. Would absolutely stay again and rarely book 3 star places. Price was great for what we got.

In fact, this was the second time my family stayed in Qulistar. We stayed several days earlier before we webt to Nanjing Tulou & Quanzhou. We were warmly welcomed when we checked in. And our request for room type change for my father was approved & handled speedily by Mr Li (the manager) himself. As it was Christmas eve, we received huge apples as presents in our rooms. My sister,whose birthday is on Christmas, even received a huge bouquet of fresh roses, hand drawn birthday card & a box prefumed writing cards. This was such a wonderful and thoughtful surprise. Normally received in 5 star hotels for value guests. Staff at the reception were attentive & quick to respond to queries & requests. We love the breakfast & the warm & helpful attitude of the staff. Food were varied daily. We celebrated my sister’s birthday at bteakfast lounge. Kudos to manager Mr Li & his team .. we had a superb stay.

There was a relentless, cacophonous construction noise from inside the hotel starting at 8am and not ceasing until around 5pm. Drilling, sawing, grinding noises. Even with noise cancelling headphones it was hard to block out. They are apparently constructing a "tearoom" on the 4th floor but you can hear it throughout the hotel. At a certain point, it became comical how loud the noise was. In addition, there is an omnipresent smell of cigarette smoke in the room, despite the non-smoking signs everywhere, the windows closed, etc. In short, a typical Chinese hotel experience.

Decent location. Mediocre breakfast. Comfortable beds and pillows. Weak shower. Easy check in with friendly front desk that did their best to help.
