Facilities are great but expensive- as is the ice-cream. You may need to pay for the outdoor pool.

The hotel looks very opulent. The decor is gorgeous.There are excellent facilities- which come at a cost! There is a minigolf, tennis and badminton courts, a spa and a gym, as well as an indoor play area for children. There is a huge choice for breakfast and no queuing for tables. There is a safe and mini fridge in the room, as well as an iron and ironing board. Beds are comfy. The metro is ca.10-15 mins on foot. It takes about 1h15 to get to Pudong airport with the metro.

On the negative side, the pool situation was a letdown. The outdoor pool costs extra (and is quite expensive), while the indoor pool requires swimming caps, which we didn't have with us.

Wish we had realized to try different irons and woods. Excellent stay with family meeting from Europe and US from the South Pacific. Handy to our relatives and family! Great hotel to stay in Shanghai near the Convention Center. Very large room with very nice views and everything you need. It's not completely new but it's still in great condition and it's got some charm!

The hotel was a magnificent design. The buffet breakfast and dinners had significant range and very nice. The restaurant had great dimsum. I wish I had more time to use the amenities.

Nothing about the hotel or the luxury or the location can be criticized. Its a fabulous hotel and highly recommended. Worth the amount anyone can pay for the stay.

Breakfast had a wide spread and the seating was luxurious too. The hotel lives up to its name Chateau Star and is really massive. The rooms are very big and spacious and luxurious interior. The hotel gives the feel of Royal family and treatment is as good. The location of the hotel is ideal. The entire staff is very courtious and soft spoken.

Excellent experience and fantastic staff. Superb variety of facilities, swimming pool is for lengths/exercise not relaxation. The staff went above and beyond supplying us with a packaged breakfast as we had a 4am start to catch our next flight. 30 minute taxi to airport.

Buffet breakfast could switch up a little, and the misleading info of the lift. For eg. it mentioned saloon, but the salon wasn’t operating anymore

The building is not soundproof but it is so big it's easy to get a room without neighbours. It's a 25 minutes taxi ride to downtown but not a big deal either and not expensive. The Chinese restaurant has very high prices with poor and rough service (not even an English menu available nor English spoken staff) but the basic restaurant is fine...although not cheap either! But the room itself was at a very acceptable price.

High luxury for everything: huge room, exquisite taste, lovely tea cups, perfect service, friendly manners, quiet surroundings. This place is a real palace and the name Chateau is not abusive.
