How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis hotel is a fabulous 8.9 on Booking.com, because it is FABULOUS! A great location! You fly into HK international, you switch to the Ferry (at airport) which takes you to Shekou Port in 30 minutes, then you get on to line 2 metro directly to the hotel (Jingtian), or line 12 and switch to line 9 on same platform. The exit at JINGTIAN is EXIT B, which takes you up an escalator INTO the building lobby where the hotel is located. Take elevator to 28th floor to check in. SIMPLE! When checking out (apart from leaving your luggage with the concierge for late night flights), you take metro back to Shekou port, check-in at your airline counter, they take your luggage, you board the ferry, 30 minutes to HK International, you go catch your flight, and your luggage is transferred directly to the plane, and meets you at your destination. SIMPLE! The staff are most helpful. If they do not speak English (lingua franca), they will communicate with a translator APP. The managers have English skills. Any correspondence or delivery arrives safely to the concierge. The room is made up daily. Fresh towels, toiletries, and complimentary water/soda, daily. The hotel has beautiful calming decor. There is even a little R2D2 robot that moves around making deliveries. To be noted, you might have a neighbouring suite with kids, who won't go to bed on time, ...that is to be expected. As for food, like breakfast, before the restaurant opens when you have jet lag, waking up around 4 or 5am, there's a 24-hour McDonald's across the street, ...in time to catch the 14-minute train journey or 45-minute subway ride, between 6 and 7am at their respective locations in Shenzhen, for HONG KONG! Again, a wonderful 8-day stay, with a park nearby. The metro station is situated perfectly to reach anywhere in Shenzhen swiftly. THANKS-A-MILLION!

Verified reviewEXTREMELY CELAN. EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF. Strategic location close to metro station, Futian downtown, Huaqiangbei (electronic city) and public park with a great view of the city. Many places where to go to eat nearby. English-speaking personnel and even those who did not speak English tried to help me in every possible way they could, by using online translators. Rooms with a very nice view of the city, which you also enjoy every morning when having breakfast. Rooms are very modern, decorated with a lot of taste and equipped with electric-operated curtains and shields, multiple buttons for controlling all the many different lights in the room and a very efficient air conditioning system which keeps exactly the room temperature you have set, without sending you among the polar bears if you set 24°C as the room temperature, as opposed to what happened to me in many (even luxury) hotels around the world. Besides, rooms are complete with all the necessary accessories for a pleasant and convenient stay. Free water bottles in the room every day + tea + coffee + welcome fruit dish upon arrival + complimentary soft drinks in the minibar: these so many goodies all toghether, are definitely NOT common to find even in a 5-star hotel. Good WiFi coverage. My return flight was very late in the evening: they allowed me for a late PM checkout and they even helped me packing up a couple of loose boxes that I had purchased. Sweet. The Jingju has definitely earned one more returning customer.
Only a couple of glitches and they are all related to breakfast. Breakfast is mainly and heavily gauged on Easterner/Oriental taste. Widening the choice of options for a Westerner-taste/continental breakfast, would earn the Jingju a rate beyond perfection. The heating lamps for croissants are either too strong or too close to croissants, thus making the pastries overcooked and hardly eatable.

Verified review1) Location - located on top of a metro station
1) Air Conditioning - hard to operate, air flow can stop (esp. if your desired temp is > 22c), 2) A no-frill hotel with limited facility. Breakfast is so so. Chair has no solid back support, and water from shower room can overflow (my first room), 3) Inadequate sound proof

Verified reviewThe staff, the location, the cleanliness of the room - everything was great! I would definitely come back to this hotel when traveling to Shenzhen. The breakfast has lots of options too, and the facility is surrounded by lots of coffee shops and restaurants.
Everything was great, besides this being a kid-friendly hotel (I was not aware of that) with not so sound proofing walls. A bit of crying at night.

Verified reviewI can only agree with the many references here and mention the good geographical location. Futian is the central district and from here you can swarm out in all directions, if that is an advantage for your travelling. The direct connection to the underground makes this even clearer. The hotel staff are absolutely courteous and helpful, especially in my case as a single European traveller. The ambience in my room and the highly located breakfast room gave me every morning the perfect start to the day.
