Beautiful, stylistic interiors and design in modernistic complement to the quaint and interesting ancient village it stands within. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, well air-conditioned and spacious rooms! The staff are helpful and friendly too.

the suite (and I guess the rooms too) have these folding gates instead of some internal doors, and they go well with the raw industrial aesthetics but are just impractical. that detail doesn't spoil the overall pleasant impression though

very special hotel, exciting architecture, some quirks but overall extremely pleasant experience. it was my first time in Nantou and the hotel is a calm oasis in the middle of the bustling town with it's shops, bars and cafés. highly recommended

Be ready to take a bit of walk from the main road, especially with luggage, since this place is at the pedestrian zone, thus this place could be living until 10pm

Because it is designed with aesthetics in mind, some things may not be quite practical, e.g. limited storage spaces/desk (no safety box), smaller wash basin area, toilet bowl directly facing the bed, no tv, limited sockets, as the walls are bare, no soundproofing (can hear outside especially when kids are playing and lobby noise from the top floors). Overall, it is still a great place to stay and experience.

The staff were very kind and patient and super helpful. Able to reach out to them easily with our needs and arrangements. The interior was modern, unique and spacious. We loved the concept and vibe. They have nice free drinks and snacks/fruits and amenities.

Since it’s on a walking street so carrying a large suitcase to get to the hotel was quite a struggle, so it could be hard for those with lots of luggage and with walking difficulties.

The historical site - it’s right in the centre of Nantou Ancient City (1700 years old!), the beautiful minimalistic Ling Nan-style architecture design and the super supportive staffs.

they didnt have washroom facilities in the lobby. after we checked out and went back to pick up our luggage, there were no toilets for guests and need to go to public toilets outside.

manager was very helpful and made lunch reservation for us in nantou ancient city. manager even walked over to restaurant to make sure our reservation was made properly. the hotel was able to make our room feather free and butler brought extra non-down pillows to our room. the barrista of decameron coffee in the hotel lobby is very passionate about coffee and makes great brew. the location is very central inside the ancient town

The hotel is situated in the middle of Nantou old city with beautiful lanes and lots of interesting shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is very unique & artistic, the room has all modern amenities with very comfy bed. Good communication from the staffs before and during our stay. We really enjoyed staying at The Jiangnan House and will definitely come back.

Nothing, so far everything were great

They only serve western breakfast when we come which served at the coffee shop downstair. The breakfast was excellent and filling. Location of the hotel is perfect to explore and so many small cafe and restaurant to checked around. It is pretty easy to access but maybe difficult if you carry so many luggage because you need to pass through the nantou ancient city area and the path is not smooth for dragging the luggage.

Had a wonderful stay at this award-winning designer boutique hotel hidden inside Nantou Ancient City. The 11-room interior was dripping with thoughtful architectural details. Every industrial design choice is a conversation between old and new. Every room consisted of an incredible book collection that will make you wish you had insomnia so you could stay up late reading. The beautiful plants on the balcony brought life to the concrete minimalism. The staff are tech-forward and incredibly accommodating. Found my new go-to hotel in Shenzhen.

Just that it was slightly far away from the streets so dragging your suitcase was a bit of a pain - but when checking out the hotel staff offered to help bring your luggage to your taxi.

Hotel staff was very friendly, possibly best service I've experienced in China. Beautiful interior and the entire ambiance of the space was very nicely designed. Location of the hotel was fun - I enjoyed walking around the area during daytime and grabbing a drink at the nearby bars at night.
