How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

Don’t underestimate the neighbourhood. It is really pleasant to walk around and has so much to offer.

Verified reviewI like everything, the subway was close to the hotel, the personal is very kind and they give you a guide of the places you can visit. The room was always very clean, it was the private restroom without balcony, and it was very good.
I would have liked the possibility of having the sign for having or not cleanning. But it is not important, it is a personal preference. Everything was perfect!!.

Verified reviewThis hostel is great ! It has probably been my best one in China. The staff speak English, they are very nice and helpful. An employee even helped me to buy my ferry ticket to Macau. The localisation is very convenient, in the OCT art center and in the middle of all places of interest in Shenzhen. The common room is very enjoyable with a lot of light, plants, coffee etc. The dormitory is just a two person one, so quite quiet. I highly recommend this hotel.
The WiFi was very good in public spaces but not so good in the room.

Verified reviewThe location is rather good and proximate to metro lines 1 and 2 along with buses. There is a comfortable bar annexed to the hostel and overall the surroundings are rather pleasant. The (so called) Queen Room is worth the money. There is limited but comprehendable English spoken at the reception. There is also a three hour (drop-off) laundry service (although they did lose a sock).
The breakfast is by no lenient application of the term a "buffet". Nevertheless for 12Y it was adequate and comprised toast, a hard-boiled egg and small tomatoes. There is a coffee machine but one has to provide one's own tea and milk if one desires the latter. There is a very limited source of hot water which is procured from a cheap and temperamental dispenser. Nevertheless, there are other good Chinese breakfast options within 100m close to the supermarket which is literally across the road.

Verified reviewI like the locations because it is located in the heart of Huaqiao Cheng, giving easy access to surrounding spots, there’s a local market fair closed by.
It is quite old. We stayed on the second floor, which is right next to a common toilet. Everyone keeps closing the door very hard and noisy even at night. I feel like the staff is not trying the best to help when we have a problem.

Our hostel is renovated from an old building dating back to the 1980s. Although we have upgraded many facilities and equipment, the sound insulation issue of the old building’s walls cannot be completely resolved. Considering the hot weather in summer, the air conditioning in our hostel lobby is turned on during peak hours with higher foot traffic — specifically from 09:00 to 23:00 daily — to provide everyone with a cool public space. During nighttime hours when there are few or no guests, the air conditioning will be temporarily turned off to practice energy conservation and environmental protection. Additionally, we have placed electric fans in the lobby. If guests need to cool down during non-AC operating hours, or if they feel the temperature in the AC area is not cool enough, they are welcome to turn on the fans at any time. Verified reviewthe room was comfortable and very clean, it is obvious they clean everything thoroughly. we could also do our laundry and hang it in the sun, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. the weekly english corner talk was really fun and a great way to get to know more people, and living there felt like home.

Verified reviewStaff is friendly and helpful. I had a number of deliveries from Taobao. Front desk staff received them all for me while I was away. I truly appreciate that service. A lot of restaurants and a local supermarket across the street.
The hostel is like 15 mins walk from the metro at station. Plus the heat and humidity in the summer, it would feel like a long walk.

Verified reviewAmazing stay, the bedroom was shared with just another person and the amenities were great. The common area was also very nice.
My room was in the last floor (6th I think) and I had to use the stairs, I don’t remember if it had an elevator or if it was just out survice at the time. Location is in a nice area, but far from the subway station.
