How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewNew and very nice. I paid a few dollars more and had a private room with shared toilet and bathroom. Very clean and nice.
It is a bit cold in the corridors with them being all blue and white. The toilet were a bit complicated to use hygienically, but showers were super nice.

Verified reviewStaff was incredibly nice and accommodating to foreigners, they helped me with my travels. Everything was clean and very inviting.
I would have preferred that bath towels would be provided, although I am not sure if this is a cultural thing. The locks to the rooms tended to be a little loud which is not good for when others are trying to sleep.

Verified reviewThe staff is extremely helpful and speaks english really good. It's very new and clean.
The beds are very hard. The showers are pretty messy. It's boring for a hostel - no parties, no loud talking, the bar was closed. The smoking area is literally 1sqm, you aren't allowed to open the window and the ventilation is not exactly strong, the ashtray was full of moldy coffee grounds. Do not book it if you like to have a beer, or if you're a smoker.

First of all, our lavatory will be cleaned up twice a day by HSKP and we also have 3 times staff check during day time, we are quite sure that our lavatory is always tidy and clean during your stay. What's more, as an cozy city hostel, we try to provide every guests a quiet, comfortable and helpful hostel and We ask every guests to keep quiet all the time. If you need party and alcohol, you can definitely choose a party hostel. And we are shocked that all of you even drink in the Dorm, which is strictly prohibited and has been emphasized when you check in. At same time, our lobby has lots of sofa and open for 24 hours, but unfortunately you did not try to enjoy the lobby but break our rules. Thanks for your advice and we will avoid such kind of guests staying in our hostel in order to keep our hostel clean and cozy.

The room during the night was extremely hot. Not sure if the AC was working well. Additionally, the toilet seat commode in the men’s bathroom was not functioning while I was staying there.
