The wellness is rather bad for such a hotel. Sauna is only in treatment rooms, jacuzzi is cold, and the massage costs 10 times more than 200m further away.

Room service was slow. On our last night, we decided to stay in for dinner as had a big day out. Ordered at 7:40pm and dinner didn't arrive until after 9pm. Sadly, the three plates of pasta also arrived lukewarm.

Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at Sofitel. Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. The pool and gym were a nice addition considering this is not a big hotel. Wide selection at breakfast. The captain at breakfast was friendly and gave great suggestions on city highlights. Special thanks to the chief butler Mr. Fong who was accommodating and flexible. All in all a great stay in Xian.

This is such a lovely hotel. The location is really central, the room was big and airy, the breakfast was delicious and the swimming pool tranquil. Two things that were outstanding were the free happy hour and the attitude of the staff - they could not have been nicer and more helpful

The 24 hour concierge services. They arranged a beautiful trip to long an caves. The guide who took us to see the city Nancy was one of the best guides to accompany us.

While it was located within the old city, it was not within walking distance to the key attractions in the old city.

The hotel and its rooms were beautiful designed and well-maintained. The deluxe rooms are luxurious, there were 2 toilets with a sitting area. The staff were courteous and helpful at all times. The buffet breakfast had a wonderful spread and we were spoilt for choice.

Wilson and Danny the Butlers were Amazing. Especially Wilson just went above and beyond on everything - Really loved my stay here. Wonderful room and lovely property and really enjoyed the fantastic breakfast with european and chinese options. Amazing stay and would come back and stay again in a heartbeat. Wilson the butler was amazing and just organized my stay in Xi'an and helped me with various things and booked a trip to the terra cotta warriors and was just superb. Loved this property and would stay here again without a second thought if/when back in Xi'an.

The hotel is in the centre of Xi'An and has a Grand Hotel feeling which is a nice break from the more standard hotels. Staff is very helpful and attentive. Rooms are very nice and of good size. Breakfast is great and the club on the 7th floor is a great place for an evening tea or drink.

A true 5 star hotel. I genuinely did not expect this. There are 2 Sofitels in this complex (Renmin square and Legend). This review is for the Legend. Firstly, truly excellent staff. Everyone was professional, kind, attentive, and go the extra mile every time! A special thank you to Butler Fancy, who went above and beyond for my wife and I. The hotel is immaculate. All areas are pristine, especially the rooms. Our room was fantastic and everything was extremely clean. The exterior grounds are just as immaculate as the internal spaces. Breakfast options were great, bar has a happy hour, location was only a few minutes taxi from all the main spots. I usually do leave reviews for hotels, but they are short and succinct. However, I felt the need to rate this property and its staff as best as I could. This was the best hotel we encountered on our China trip. It would be a pleasure to go back there!

A bit of a hassle beforehand to get extra bed in room, but butler on site was very responsive and immediately arranged for children’s bed. Prize for extra bed is a bit excessive (USD 70).

Was a bit empty of guests. Breakfast was not the best - pasties seemed stale or outsourced. Staff struggled with English at time.

Beautiful and historic building. Free minibar and happy hour was nice. Got a free room upgrade. Concierge helped plan good visit to Terracotta Warriors Museum.
