How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

She gets a discount too. The location was brilliant. We could walk to the East entrance to Zhangjiajie national forest. This is not a Western-standard hotel; it is a family-run business, even though it receives many foreign tourists. It’s important to note that many major hotels in Wulingyuan, such as the Hilton or Pullman, are not listed on this platform. Foreign travelers often only discover these alternatives upon arrival, which may explain why they end up choosing this hotel. The property itself is quite old and would definitely benefit from refurbishment. Based on our experience, many of the photos currently available online seem outdated. While our room was spacious, the window structure was poorly sealed, allowing wind and noise to easily enter from outside. The bathroom was not well maintained and would flood every time we used the shower. We were assigned a room on the upper floor of the building, where the corridor is actually an open-air terrace used for washing and drying bed sheets and towels. In terms of hygiene, there is definitely room for improvement throughout the property. We also noticed that guests — and sometimes even hotel staff — would smoke cigarettes in the stairwell, which affected the overall cleanliness and atmosphere.

The lady owner was very attentive to our needs and questions as well. The location was within walking distance to the east gate of the national park, which was quite convenient. Verified reviewThis hotel is truly exceptional! It’s conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from the main entrance of the Avatar park. The lady at the reception was incredibly helpful, securing us tickets to the park at a price more affordable than those at the official gate—our passports served as our tickets, which was quite convenient. The breakfast, was made by the lady，very delicious more than sufficient to fuel our day. The rooms were spotless. Upon checking out, we were pleasantly surprised with gifts—a snack and a red envelope, adding a personal touch to our stay. The top-floor laundry room was an absolute lifesaver, especially after long hours of hiking, and the complimentary laundry soap was a thoughtful addition. The receptionist and her husband went above and beyond, allowing us to use the lobby bathroom for a shower even after we had checked out. I am thrilled that we selected this hotel over others due to its warm and friendly atmosphere. It has left me with very fond and lasting memories. Thank you for making our stay so memorable!

Breakfast is made by her at the moment and there are western options with bread, fruit and coffee.
