Unfortunately some rooms (dorm, shower) had no window, so the air didn't circulate well. I liked the overall feel more in Desti Chengdu which I visited before.

Comfy beds with a curtain, and everything needed to sleep well. Fantastic common room with a bar, reading room and pool table. And excellent location in Xian.

China has a culture of people smoking in the toilets, showers, and public stairways. For non smokers this is horrible. Difficult problem to fix. The WiFi desperately needs upgrading. Xi'an is a beautiful place. The air is clean. But don't bother going to see the terracotta army. You will be very, very disappointed. From what I hear it was amazing in the 1980s. Now it is an absolute sea of Chinese people and you will barely get to see anything at all.

Location is good. Very close to the metro station. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cleaners do a very good job. Sleeping rooms are well away from the lounge/bar. The facilities are modern so everything is functioning. There is a pool table. That is great! There are organised activities for guests. Good idea. High proportion of domestic Chinese visitors. Nice change and a good opportunity to interact with the "locals".

the fact that I spent so little time in Xi'an

The staff here is amazing — super kind, always smiling, and they speak English, which made my stay in Xi’an so much easier. The rooms are clean, the bed’s really comfy, and I slept like a baby. The lobby with all the board games turned into the spot where I met so many people from all over the world. It’s such a cozy place, and I honestly couldn’t recommend it more. Plus, the hostel’s in a beautiful area and everything you need is just a short walk away.

- Not the hostel's fault but the men's toilet seemed like a smoking free area. Some of the guests didn't care at all about no smoking and it was full of cigarette butts. - The common room was quite a mess in the early morning

- Spacious 4 bed dorm - Plenty of showers and toilets - Location. Near subway line 2, Bell and Drum tower and muslim quarter - Some of the staff were really helpful

The hostel is very good ((I stayed in three Desti hostels in China and this one was the best). It is quite big, with a spacious common area. Beds have curtains, universal electric plugs. The location is also very good, near the metro station (follow the instructions how to find the hostel. they send the message the day before stay).

Large rooms might be a bit noisy - this all depends on the people in your room. Some nights I’ve had less respectful folks, but next time I’ll take smaller rooms.

I can not believe how many amenities there were for the price. For almost nothing, you get a really comfortable duvet and pillow, a towel is provided, free drinking water and bottled water everyday, shampoo shower gel makeup pad shower cap cotton buds slippers… is there anything more you need, really ?

The facilities were fantastic, this is the best hostel I have stayed in. Everyone was nice and respectful. The rooms were extremely comfortable with everything you could need. Check out is at 12 which is also very convenient.

The hostel is great. Everything was really clean, it have a big bar with 8pool, table games available , cocktails and some food . You are really in the city center , outiside the hostel you can find a lot of shops and restaurants . It’s attached to the metro stop and also to the Bell Tower . The reception guys speaks very good English also.

After check-out and upon collecting baggage staff at the front desk were not too friendly, as opposed to staff that assisted us and gave us the OK to take a shower after our tour and before we had to head for our overnight train. That did ruin what was generally a pleasant experience
