How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewThe staff was so helpful and arranging! They kindly recommended restaurants and sightseeing places around the hotel, and helped us when we had mixed up our booking dates. The room had a nice view and was beautifully decorated. I highly recommend the Chinese breakfast, which was the best we had in a hotel in China.

The first floor hall is full of photo spots, and it's easy to take great photos~ It's also convenient to get to various scenic spots. first floor runs through, with the old street behind and the river bank in front. Verified reviewI am so glad that I found this beautiful hotel and had some wonderful stays with them. 1.sparking clean everywhere, soft bed and warm shower! 2. The staffs were super friendly and helpful! They even helped us hanging the laundry, they have wash machine on the rooftop.2 we had beautiful memories on rooftop with sunset.

Verified reviewIt was beyond amazing, great staff, wonderful rooms at a great location in the old town and near the river, clean, spacious, good beds, you can wash your clothes for free, lovable hosts. In one sentence, one of the best stays I ever found on booking.com for such an affordable price.
If I really had to say anything negative, that is that I am not a great fan of Chinese breakfast, which is a matter of a taste, I know a lot of people wrote it was great / hm… maybe I am too European for that…

Verified reviewThe hotel is beautiful and the staff very helpful. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We had both the western and chinese breakfast and were delicious. We could also put the laundry ourselves and free of charge. Would definitely come back!

Verified review- nice decor and amenities - convenient location, near the bus station and to Xingping Main Street - staff is friendly, they helped us arrange a sunrise hike
NOTE: the location provided on booking.com and google/iphone maps is not correct. I recommend you ask the staff to provide the details prior to your arrival. The vegetarian options for breakfast are a bit limited, but still, they provided to me.

Verified reviewThis hotel is located at Xingping Ancient Town, staffs are friendly and helpful, room is clean and nice, toilet bowl seat is heated, hotel lobby is well decorated and served with hot tea, sweet potatoes and tangerine through out the day. At the back entrance is the ancient town street, whereas the front entrance is facing the river and there is a car park there. Breakfast is delicious and you can ask for refill. At the top floor, there is a washer cum dryer, you can use it for free. 10 to 15 mins walk to 20RMB scenic area. Overall, we like this hotel and highly recommended this hotel.

Verified reviewLocation is perfect. Great base for hiking, rafting, boat trip, easy to ferry to the other side too. Breakfast is pre made, but it was very good, fresh and made with high quality ingredients. View from the room was good, but it's the view from the rooftop area (where you can chill on a chair by the table) that was truly amazing. The whole place is modern and clean. Trust the location on amap.com. Don't trust other sources.
I am a minimalist, so I won't complain here about things that others might. The only thing I didn't like was the shower in my room that seem to not have pure cold water setting, whereas the sink had it and the bathtub too.
