The location is quiet, green and really cool (in a converted textile factory campus), 5 minutes from metro, a huge shopping mall and a ton of restaurants. The bed is comfortable, the shower works well, the breakfast is diverse and served in an interesting space. The AC works really well, which was really important in the humid heat of mid May 2025. A great hotel overall for a really good price!

The hotel itself is getting a bit old so maybe a light remodel is in order.

This hotel is a redeveloped textile factory, and is unique as a the whole factory was converted to a hotel and public facilities such a studios for art, public gathering and similar. It is all inside a gated comunity and is beautifuly designed, full of plants and very quiet to stay, even thou it is in center of town. It offers beautifull and unique experience not found anywhere else in Guangzhou, and Timmy is a good host 👍

I had a great stay! The staff was incredibly helpful and went out of their way to assist with anything I needed. The room was clean and well-maintained, and the location was very convenient. It’s within walking distance of the subway station, and you can get a direct train from the airport, making arrival and departure super easy. Highly recommended!

Great service, nice breakfast, quiet location but close to the metro and plenty of places to eat. Free shuttle bus for Canton fair but we often just used the metro as it is so close (3 stops) and easy.

Everything was great.

It was an excellent stay. Special thanks to Timmy, the hotel manager, who was extremely kind, always attentive to our needs and beyond, proactive, and incredibly quick to respond to any request. If I had to rate him, it would be 100/10. The food was varied and delicious, offering noodles, rice, eggs, dumplings, American breakfast, and more, all served according to the established schedule. The room was very spacious, impeccably clean, and had everything we needed. We always had fresh water and fruit available, which was a very thoughtful touch. Additionally, the location was perfect, with a shopping mall and a metro station just a short walk away. We visited during the Canton Fair, and the hotel’s shuttle bus service was excellent, taking us to the fair and picking us up afterward without any issues.

Their breakfast lacked vegetarian/halal options. They need better coffee. But they were very generous overall so it’s minor IMO.

They did a free upgrade of the room at no cost to keep my room closer to my colleague’s. The staff was extremely friendly, able to communicate well and very helpful.

The room was clean, and even though it was on the last floor, it was easy to be reached. The location is really good - 15 min away from the Guangzhou ( Canton ) tower. Really close to the metro station, where you can take the metro and go directly to the city centre, as well as to the Guangzhou East Railway Station. Room and bathroom were clean. Staff was kind and most of them knew English.

The only thing we thought was a bit uncomfortable was that the toilet wasn't clearly separated of the bedroom and didn't have a real wall, but this was only minor

We really liked our stay at Fangyuan, the staff were very friendly and we were surprised about the variety of breakfast items. There were European options but also many Chinese ones including vegetarian options. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is centrally located and you're very close to the Canton tower as well as the metro. There are many luxurious hotels in Guangzhong but if youre looking for something that has everything you need at a food price and quality, this is it. Would come here again!

Good size apartment. Bathroom separating the living and bedroom was really good. Cleaned daily. Outside area was disappointing as it was a small brick walled area with no seating. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Situated in the middle of a university site. Walking distance to shops, food outlets and metro. Bed was very hard.

Guangzhou Fangyuan Hotel feels like 'home away from home' Timmy leads a team of staff who were super friendly and helpful. The staff always greet you with a smile.The buffet breakfast was very tasty and it has a good variety.The Kecun metro station is about 5-7 mins walk from the hotel. You can take line 3 from the station to the airport. We had a very comfortable stay. Thank you. .

Everything was as described. The room has a good size and was very clean. The stuff were very helpful and always ready to help whenever i needed help. The location is amazing, there is a Metro Station very close to the hotel which make you easily go to anywhere.

The noise from the street all night long.

The location and facilities were great. The hotel was so close to the metro station, the department stores and street food. The room was simple but it has everything you need. I don't see the need for a fridge as I ate out and the potion is sufficient for me thus no left over. The breakfast was great. Everyday I stayed, there were different meals on offer. The hotel graciously allowed me to check in earlier, so I could have a rest.

The bathroom is in weird position and seems a bit forced to be there.

Nothing to complain except that it needs improvement on its maintenance.

The staff HaiXin Fan was exceptional. She went to the extend to assist us to refund our taxi fare where we were short changed. Helpful in everyway to assist whenever we required. Thank you and keep it up.

Internet was not working on my phone and laptop, stuff we’re trying to fix it but didn’t succeed. Looks like some technical issue.

Walking distance to the canton tower, corniche, bridge, opera, library and metro stations. Good breakfast. Hospitable stuff.
