How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewlocation is exactly at the back of Fuzimiao Temple. There is direct access to the temple beside the hotel entrance. The hotel was clean and spotless. The bathroom was huge, toiletries were nice. Each room is dorm-type with 4 capsule spaces but didn't have any roommate during my entire 3 night stay. The Internet was fast, but you needed to get the passcode from the reception (they didn't write it down on the keycard holder). There is also a laundry area which is operated by a QR code. Very helpful if you are on a long vacation and need to wash clothes in the middle of the trip. And in case you need anything, there was a convenience store in front of the hotel entrance. This hotel has the best value for money. Will stay here again when I come back to Nanjing.
This hotel is hard to find if you do not know how to read Chinese. The hotel name at the entrance is in Chinese. For the benefit of everyone who plans to book here, I have included photos of the hotel entrance and the nearest establishments in this review. There are hanfu rental shops and a convenience store across the street, there is also a police station in the same building which you won't miss. Here is the google pin of the hotel for reference (https://maps.app.goo.gl/3dem9x1bobfuL3PFA). The hotel staff does not speak English, so it's hard to communicate what you need exactly with the staff, best to use a translation app. You will be given a bath kit with disposable towels, slippers, a toothbrush, and a comb. Disposable toiletries are okay with me, but the towel given doesn't dry you enough when taking a bath. Bring a towel if you can.

Verified reviewLocation in the city center and the place itself: amazing! The kindness of the young people at the reception, always on disposal. A special merit and thanks goes to Li, very efficient girl, who spent a lot of time helping me in solving a problem and also let me eat a delicious Nanjing duck!
Difficult to find it: no sign on the street. The staff doesn’t speak a word of English. Quite tough to get route indications.

Verified reviewVery spacious and luxurious Hostel that is part of a hotel. It is perfectly located next to the temple. The receptionists are very friendly and will try their best to converse in English.
The price is steep for a Hostel room and the bathroom is only hidden behind milk glas and could not be locked.

Verified reviewLocation is 10. Near to metro but 15mins walk. Within confucius temple. There were no English speaking staff, but they tried to use the translation app. The place is like a 3 star hotel vibe, not really a hostel. Very clean.
I hope they give proper direction to their location before checking in as Google map is not 100% accurate in china. It is the most expensive hostel I have stayed in China.

Verified reviewLocation is perfect
There are 2 people living in the room longer than normal tourists. It seems they rent a bed in the room for a long time to stay and work in Shanghai. They hang their clothes in the room and their stuffs are so messy.

Verified reviewawesome location. facilities all very new and clean, well maintained.
someone was smoking in our 4-bed dorm room, so the place smelled a bit of smoke (not hostel's fault, but i think it was not addressed). no lockers

Verified reviewSuper modern room, very clean and everyday room service. They provide you with a welcome package for the bathroom. Staff are very friendly. Location very central in Fuzimiao. It's more a hotel than a hostel vibe, so you most probably won't meet any other backpackers here (I was alone in the 4-bed room during my 2 nights stay). But because of that it's a very good opportunity to calm down a bit and relax from your journey. I liked it.
Hotel was very hard to find because the signs are only in Chinese and so is the hotel's name. It's located in a passway which first looks like a shopping street. You have to go directly through the first left door inside this passway when you come from the vehicle street. During night time it was very cold in the room (even for me as a person who doesn't get cold so easily).

Can be difficult to find due to lack of signing in English and construction in front of the building

Verified reviewIt's not the traditional type of youth hostel.,basically is hotel by renting out the bed as backpacker hostel. You hardly to meet other solo travellers , it's more to family and luxury travel. I was staying there 3 nights and I'm the only one in the 4 beds bedroom. There is no public area to meet others. Good things is near to walking street and subway.
Basically good but it could be disappointed if you wanted to meet other traveller here.
