How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewThe room and surrounding area was beautiful. The room was clean and there is a nice cafe area on the second floor with delicious food. On the roof area they have a singer at night and he's really good. You can pretty much walk anywhere but there's a lot to do around the hotel.
The hotel has a very small sign so it is a bit difficult to find. However, the hotel owner caught us on our way by and made sure to lead us to our room.

Well, since we have many foreign friends, we have set up a Western restaurant and a café, and even a tavern where you can have a drink .Of course, we are a very Chinese-style hotel: Huizhou-style architecture, Hangzhou courtyard, courtyard pavilions, and flowers and plants. Nearby the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal scenic area, which is very comfortable to walk around.

The area around felt a bit up and coming. A lot of places closed or had unusual hours.
It's great to be described as charming! Although we don't have all the facilities of a luxury hotel, we are a very characterful, unique courtyard hotel. The area is a bit commercialized, but we are tucked away in a backstreet and unaffected. Welcome back any time.

Early construction noise

However, they came early to avoid the midday sun, which affected your rest. We apologize for this. Verified reviewNice spot in historical/cultural district right next to the canal, lots to explore nearby. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was nicely laid out and be rest comfortable, although not much space if you have lots of luggage. Breastfast that was offered was simple but nutritious
We had a very good first night however the people came to live next to us were extremely loud for the entire night (finally went quiet around 4:30am). Complained to staff who went to knock on their door to communicate but issue was not resolved. Wish the sound proof could be improved, or at least have punishment for people breaking the rule (there is a quiet rule after 11pm)
I'm very sorry you had to deal with noisy neighbors. They were probably some middle or high school students from Macau who seemed to be on their big trip away from home and were very excited, chatting late into the night. After your complaint, we went to talk to them immediately and the situation improved a lot. The next, I saw them and specifically told them not to make noise in their room because guests would call the police and the police would come to take a statement. They understood and there was no more noise the next day. Next time we encounter a group of students like this, we will make sure to remind them in advance not to make noise. When you come, you definitely won't have to deal with any noise.

It’s be nice to have more choices for the breakfast
Thank you for complimenting our house, which is a modern hotel located inside a Chinese-style Huizhou-style building, only 3 kilometers from city center of Wulin Gate and 6 kilometers from the West Lake scenic area. The subway station of Line 3, Xiangji Temple, is only more than 200 meters away from our shop. As for the breakfast selection you mentioned, we now have Chinese breakfast and Western breakfast to choose from. Of course, we apologize for not being able offer as many varieties as a high-star hotel's buffet breakfast, as we are a smaller scale establishment. However, the good thing is that you can mention your requirements, we will try our best to meet them.

Extremely loud until 1am everyday. There is a bar or something on the second floor, so closing all windows didn’t help. I also slept with earplugs and could still hear and feel it. If they could at least stop the noise at 10-11pm at the very least. I could really sleep.
The second floor of your room is indeed a small bar, but it is generally not crowded on weekdays, mainly with background music played by the sound system, should not be audible even with the windows closed and wearing earplugs. However, we have also talked to the bar tender about this situation and asked him to keep the volume as much as possible after 11 o'clock and to prevent guests from being too loud, hoping to improve this issue.

We are only 3 kilometers away from Wulinmen Square in the city center, and about 6 kilometers from the famous West Lake scenic area. It's only a couple of hundred meters to Xiangji Temple Station on Metro Line 3, making travel very convenient. At the same time, we are located in the Grand Canal scenic area, which also has beautiful scenery. Our establishment also features traditional Chinese garden architecture, with only two floors, a courtyard, walls, a roof, and a terrace. You won't get bored even if you stay for a month! We are located next to the Xiangji Temple in the Canal Scenic Area. The exterior of the building has an ancient appearance, but the indoor facilities are all modern. Verified reviewThe property is very charming and thw staff is very friendly and helpful. The bar/cafe is also very nice and a good place to have a drink. Breakfast is also very good and very traditional. For the price is hard to get something better. Rooms were very clean and very spacious as well. However the property can me elusive. There is jot obvious sign and it took us some time to locate. Maybe add a sign (in English at least). Location is good but probably more suitable for families. It is very quite very fast (after 9) and there is not really a convenience store nearby.

Verified reviewThis place was gorgeous - best place we stayed in China - room felt like an Austrian ski lodge and the bath was divine - really highly recommend this place.
The breakfast could be better - it was plentiful but if they could add some western elements like scramled eggs it would lift it infinitely - and perhaps add coffee to the breakfast too!
