Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was nothing not to like
There was nothing we didn’t like. Probably the best hotel we have stayed in for years and we travel a lot. The staff goes above and beyond to help their guests. Free drop off and pickup at the east gate of the national forest. Self serve laundry room is very handy. We had a high tech triple room that was large with sitting area. Very modern and clean. Can’t say enough about the staff. They were exceptional and spoke more English than we have found in other hotels in China. They are knowledgeable about the park, help with reservations and can take their time doing so. We are wondering if this was a family run hotel, because it certainly had that feel about it. Still, with sixty rooms it was a decent size. Good restaurant next door as well.

AustriaFree pick-up from the airport didn't work as expected - although we contacted the hotel several times, the driver didn't come and we had to wait in the airport for half an hour and message the property once again via WeChat/WhatsApp. The problem with this miscommunication is probably because they have a chain of hotels and you don't communicate with your property directly via messaging systems. The same happened with National Park entrance - you have to specify exact hour when you enter the park, and this time was somehow messed up, so we couldn't enter at first and had to contact the hotel so that they could fix it. There is a laundry room, however it was occupied all the time, so we had to come early in the morning and late in the night to be able to use it.
The room was great, spacious with separate toilet and shower, it had everything we needed. The breakfast was fine, mostly Chinese dishes with some minimal western options. It opens quite early, so we were able to grab something even when we were leaving very early in the morning before the buffet was officially open. There is a transfer to and from the Eastern Gate of National Park, we used it once. In order to travel to the Western Gate (what we did the other day) you would have to order Didi privately.

SpainThe breakfast could offer some more western style options.
Great location, very modern and comfortable and helpful, English speaking stuff which made our life a lot easier. I was travelling with my child and when we opened the room it was all decorated with children stuff. We were very positively surprised. The complimentary pickup service from the train station, the shuttle to the natural park, and the possibility to buy all the tickets to the paces to visit through them in advance are great services. Also, the laundry room and the swimming pool were great assets.

SingaporeThe breakfast was really quite basic, Could do with more variety, Other than that, I really enjoyed my stay here!
The hotel was right next to a lake and also a short distance from the entrance of a national park. It was really good that they provided a pick up service from the airport and also to the national park, I really appreciate Lily for booking all the tickets for my trip to Zhangjiajie. It made things much more convenient. The driver also took us around for a small fee. The beds were comfortable and the room was really high tech - I could use voice control to open the curtains, lower the volume of the tv and etc. (But you need to know how to speak mandarin). The room was clean and i appreciated that. The hotel also had a massage shop right at the entrance for you to soothe your feet after a long walk at the park.

SingaporeVery enthusiastic and friendly staff. Free laundry on the 6th floor. Hotel provided free soap. It's a basic but clean hotel and the beds were extremely comfortable. I slept the best in this hotel (mind you I stayed at the Waldorf, Aman and Langham in other cities during this trip)

CyprusWe had booked a room specifically with mountain view but they gave us a room where the view was a hallway of the hotel. When pointing it out, they told us that they overbooked and gave us a different room. They changed our room but again it was not what we had initially booked; it was a different room where they removed a bed from. Unfortunately it was a bit disappointing, as the mountain view is part of the Zhangjiajie experience. The toilet is not in a separate room, and the door does not fully soundproof. Toilet next to the bed is not an ideal scenario.
Great location and comfy rooms.

We liked everything. The hotel is a gem, it's very clean top notch and far better than any five-star hotel anywhere in the world. The rooms are massive with the latest technology to make your stay very comfortable. The hotel has a perfect location to explore the area. The staff are very helpful, friendly, welcoming, and will do absolutely everything to assist you. We never experienced such service, they will drive you anywhere you like in the town. The owners wife offered to help with our laundry and ironing our clothes. The breakfast was very good with top quality coffee. An afternoon tea and coffee is served for free, plus you can have a coffee or tea anytime you wish. We were sad to leave this beautiful hotel and people and We can't wait to come back again to this hotel. Keep up the good work.

AustriaStain on the sofa (room 8503). No wardrobe in room even though there would be plenty of space. Lights in bathroom can not be turned on (also reception was not able to resolve problem). One driver drives way too fast and dangerous.
Free transfer from train station and free transfers to East Gate of national park. Very friendly staff. Exceptionally clean and modern building. Ticket booking for attractions & sightseeing done by staff with lots of tips. Free washing machines (more than 1 tumble dryer would be helpful)
