Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicThe manager Alex was super helpful, he provided great advice how to enjoy Avatar mountain before crowds come, so we had the whole area completely for ourselves between 7.15 am and 8 am. Also sunsets were unforgettable. Thanks a lot!

United StatesExcellent location inside the park with easy access to the sights. Simple, clean rooms, good food, and nice tea from the YOLO property. The host, Alex, helped us plan our sightseeing so we could see everything we wanted to see. He also arranged tickets and other accommodations, and transportation for us in the Zhangjiajie area. I was traveling with kids and appreciated that YOLO made the trip so much easier! Thank you!!

United Kingdomliked everything
Location, helpful staff and the food. We spent the total of zero minutes queueing for anything. It was great to start inside the park and literally go in the opposite direction to all the crowds. Carol and Alex were both really helpful, helped us plan a good route and booked the tickets, entry times, etc. for us. You have to eat at the restaurant there, but the food was goooood.

CanadaWas very isolated so had no choice but to eat at the hotel restaurant. Could update the rooms and have more comfortable beds. Not easy to get to so only option for us was an expensive taxi.
Great location being inside the park and going against the flow of traffic.

AustriaAlex helped us plan a route for the park, we never had to wait very long in the lines and we were able to see everything in two days with less crowds. If you want a chill, quiet and simple hotel in nature it’s a good place to stay. Very nice sunset spot only 15min walking from hotel, if you are lucky and there are no clouds. The restaurant is very simple but prices are reasonable and they offer a lot of vegetarian options.

YOLO Hotel, located inside Zhangjiajie National Park on a peaceful tea plantation, is the perfect base to explore the area and avoid the crowds. The meals were great, and the location more than makes up for it. A special thanks to Alex for his tailored guidance through the park’s trails.

PortugalAmazing experience. It was the best decision we made to visit Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. YOLO is right in the middle of the national park. The staff were super friendly and helpfull. We only stayed for 2 nights and we only had 1,5 day to visit the park. Alex was great giving us advice and planning our route. We couln't made it without him. The rooms are nice and big, with all the basics. This is a mountain experience, not a nice city hotel expirience. We had all our meals at the YOLO and they were great. My advice is to book the transfers with them, because it's much easier and they will take you right to YOLO and back. Otherwise, it will take a lot of effort to get to YOLO. This is the right place to relax in nature, have good traditional chinese food and visit one of the most beautifull parks.

LuxembourgPerfect location inside the park, close to hiking trails and a sunset spot. Restaurant for dinner and breakfast on the venue. The manager is amazing, he planned our itineraries each day (in a way to avoid the crowds) and shared his stories with us. One of the best stays for nature and mountain lovers. Would definitely stay here again!

United Stateshot water for the shower is inconsistent. it runs for 30 seconds then no pressure at all, then you must wait about 1 minute, get 30 seconds hot water. repeat.
YOLO's main advantage is location. it's right inside the park, and in the middle of a tea plantation! if you're on a budget, want to stay in the park, and in a unique location, stay at YOLO. this hotel is also much quieter than the other options. there's only you, the staff, and other guests. the hotel has 40 rooms, but only about 20% of them were occupied when we visited. the booking staff gave us literally 5 options for getting to the hotel. we took the easiest, option 1. they arranged a private DIDI taxi for us. the driver picked us up in Zhangjiagie city at the train station and drove us all the way to the hotel front door. after that, you must take the shuttle bus to get around. it's the only transportation inside the park. they run frequently, about every 15 minutes. 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. you need to let the bus driver know that you want to stop at YOLO. we used Gaia GPS app or the Amap app to track our location while on the bus. it's a 5 minute walk from the bus stop to the hotel. English speaking staff. we recommend you get at least one meal at the hotel restaurant to support the kitchen staff. we recommend the steamed egg. the main attractions in the park also have food. Tianzi mountain has the best dining options. expect basic hostel experience at YOLO, except you get your own private room and bathroom.

South AfricaDifficult to get to. The hotel should have told us that for 40 cny per luggage piece - the courier would deliver and pick up from YOLO. Although we travelled light weight - there are a huge amount of steep steps to manoeuvre and being seniors, it was v tedious. On the way back Alex offered for the luggage to be delivered to East Gate, which was brilliant.
Excellent location in the park Very tranquil and in a tea estate. Alex walked us to a special location for sunset. The hotel has a good restaurant which is not mentioned in the details.

MalaysiaYou would be captive and dining would be limited to what is being offered on site. Not a bad thing if you are staying for a night or two. Also, the hot water was erratic. It was either cold or very hot.
It is located inside the national park, in a tea plantation. You can set off earlier for the day and come back later, giving you a longer day in the park. Alex, one of the staff was exceptional. He gave us an excellent plan on how to tackle the park over two days. He was patient and detailed. Without his guidance, we would have made many mistakes. The park is huge and can be confusing. You would need a guide to know how to get from one place to the next or from one bus to another.

CanadaThe only negative is the bed is rock hard. The hotel told us the government won’t allow them to get new beds so they can’t improve the problem. It’s unfortunate but we asked for extra mattress pads and that helped a bit.
I really loved the size of the room and the location inside the park. You get free tea as it’s a tea plantation and that was delicious. The dinner was also very good, I had read some bad reviews about it but they were wrong.

BelgiumThe rooms were fine, but the bathroom could be a bit cleaner and the water of the shower was slow to drain.
The location of YOLO resort is perfect. Together with the host, we worked out a great plan to avoid the crowds in the national park. We were also able to make use of the pick-up service and of the luggage storage at the train station, which was a great experience. The dinner and breakfast options were very tasty, as well as the free tea! The sunset spot is another highlight.
