There is no filtered water available. We did ask for water once and they gave us a bottle which was nice but it would be better for customers and the environment if filtered water was available. There is a locked gate to the property which a staff members needs to open each time you arrive/leave which was fine but seemed a little unnecessary / cumbersome and I’m not sure how they manage it very early or late in the morning. It would be better if you were given a key to access that gate.

Beautiful gardens with lots of bird life and butterflies, but close enough to the town to be walkable. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and it was great value for money. The staff made us a slightly early breakfast to accommodate our plans for the day which was very kind of them.

Only lukewarm shower. (If you arrive and the gate is closed ring the bell on the right side of the big gate, slightly hidden. Not a negative, just good to know.)

Beautiful setting among all-green, yet not far from the main square (uphill though, but so is almost anywhere in Salento). Friendly and helpful staff.

Only that the cabin with one double bed was small

Lovely staff, very tolerant of our low level Spanish. Beautiful and peaceful extensive garden with a nice outdoor breakfast and lounge area, surrounded by exotic plants which were lovingly tended each day by the gardener. Felt safe and secure with a night watchman at the main gate in the evenings. The cabin was nice with a little balcony but we found it to be a little on the small side with nowhere to lay our backpacks. However a hot water shower was a treat. The best thing for us was being on the edge of town, away from hectic and noisy Salemto which meant we slept well. Great value. Recommended!

A special mention goes to Mary, who went above and beyond to assist with any request I had. Whether it was providing local recommendations or helping with special arrangements, her warm and personalized service made me feel incredibly welcomed and valued. The hotel itself offers a peaceful and relaxing environment, making it the perfect place to unwind. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and thoughtfully designed to create a calm, tranquil atmosphere. It’s easy to see that the hotel takes great care in maintaining a serene ambiance for all guests. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast. It was a delicious spread, offering a variety of fresh, high-quality options. From fresh fruit and pastries to hot dishes, it was a perfect way to start the day. Overall, I would highly recommend Selva Verde, to anyone seeking a relaxing retreat with outstanding customer service. Mary’s incredible assistance, along with the peaceful setting and fantastic breakfast, made this stay unforgettable. I look forward to returning!

5 minutes from the centre of town but it feels like you’re in the jungle far away. It’s a little oasis - lots of wildlife and trees etc. The cabanas are lovely and there’s a terrace to chill. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We didn’t get his name but the owners son was really lovely - we had a really nice conversation with him one evening and he told us about the history of the area.

temperamental hot water for showering. room a little on the small side if you have a big piece of luggage each, but these things didnt bother us really because everything else was wonderful.

the cabanas are nestled amonst the beautiful, lush and colourful gardens. there are lovely, comfortable communal areas to hang out in. it's like being in a rural setting and yet it's only a 5 to 10 minute walk up to the main square. the breakfast was very good with plenty of fresh fruit. the staff are really friendly and helpful and it's really good value for money. internet good in the room.

Location down a steep hill that was a hassle, shower has terrible pressure and tricky hot water. Bed, sheets, pillows and towels not good quality. Rooms are very basic. Gardener starts too early in morning. Can hear noise from other guests especially the children.

Staff excellent! Breakfast excellent, and grounds very lush and beautiful. They put wifi booster in my room which improved the poor connection.
