Reviews of Hostal CASA COLIBRI MINCA

I stayed for 5 nights and had a wonderful stay. The bed is super comfy, the bathroom is huge with great water pressure, and the private balcony is so peaceful and lets fresh air into the room with mosquito net or can be completely closed. There are also fans that work great. Regarding the owner, Romaric, he obviously works hard on this property, and I found him to be super helpful, and one of his knowledgeable friends (the Irish man) helped me plan a hike because I was looking for something a bit longer and challenging. This place is literally ON a mountain side, IN lush greenery, everything is natural/made with wood or fibre, and the price is so reasonable... what more can people ask for?

The staff of the hostel was really friendly to us and the vibes were great. The rooms were clean and the pool was a wonderful respite after long days of hiking. The location is super near the town center, but still a little on the side and on a slight hill (not very high), which makes it super nice. Really tasty breakfast place and a laundry just behind the corner. Obviously there would be some insects coming in, as in every hostel located near jungle-like nature, but nowhere near what some reviews of the place indicated.

We stayed in a private room, and here as well the room is separated from the bedroom by a curtain. But you can figure it out with your co-traveller to give each other privacy when needed :)

This hostal was great, nice quiet neighbourhood to walk around without getting hassled. Close enough for an a cheap uber into the central. Staff were great and helpful

They have a lots of dogs and cats wich are also coming in the rooms. The kitchen is not confortable. You have to ask for every service like soup, toilet paper, towels, etc.

Very cold vibe. Didn't get my change back. The only accept cash and can't make change. Multiple cats that roam and come inside room and eat your food. Multiple dogs that growl and back every time you walk by or go into common area. Lots of work to do... could be a great place if they gave a shit. Not recommended

The view and structure of the hostel was nice, plus a cat named Floki was a very friendly cat

Started off well, however on the first night we were locked out of our room, when we contacted the owner explaining that we had no access and potentially nowhere safe to sleep, we got an automatic message and no actual reply until the next morning. There was also no staff at the hostel, so in the end we had to climb round the outside of the hostel to get into which felt quite dangerous. The whole next day there was still no staff there and no coffee or breakfast available despite that being included in our booking, we waited around for the owner to tell us this who said he'd refund us, however this ended up being only 5,000 each which is not enough to get breakfast in town. Second night was even worse, as the owner hadn't come to feed his dogs that stay on the property, two of them got aggressive and chased us out of the communal area going to bite us which is not the relaxing vibe I wanted in Minca. Another guest had also arrived this night but there was no one at the hotel to show him where he was staying so we had to show him around. The communal kitchen was dirty and seem like it hadn't been cleaned for a while. The hostel seems like it has great potential but the owner isn't managing it to it's potential. P.s. pool isn't worth it

Good location and room

Owner was aggressively threatening me because there was a mishap with the credit card. Instead of trying to resolve it he threatened me personally

Our stay in colibrí hostel was amazing, our bedroom had a terrace with an incredible view to nature and was so comfortable, the host sorted out every inconvenience we had (toilet paper or new towels) and made us feel so welcome and relaxed. We are absolutely coming back. The pool is a plus.

If you want to cook in the shared kitchen it could be difficult. A little bit under equipped.

We only stayed here one night. A nice double room with private bathroom for a great price. Up a hill but not too bad a walk. We really liked it

The stuff was very nice, the hostel located very close to the center but very quiet area. The swimming pool is nice and they have hammocks and nice terrace. Very good value for the price.

Very beautiful hostel. Clean rooms with mosquito nets, beautiful view of the jungle, they have a swimming pool, boxing equipment, chill spaces with hammocks and a nice view from the shower.

The pool was cool and shaded. Most of the hotel staff were friendly.

There was no shower curtain for half of the shower so water spilled onto the floor of the bathroom with nowhere to drain. No soap or towels provided.

Not very good value for money. I stayed in a dorm, and the restroom had no door (just a curtain) nor toilet seat. I luckily only stayed one night, so it was doable. But as mentioned; price and the dorm I stayed in with facilities did not match the price in my opinion.

Beautiful location, nice facilities - shared kitchen and filtered water, swimming pool(!) - nice staff!
