Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe wifi occasionally dropped out and we had a few black outs secondary to stormy weather.
The huts were super cute and cosy, bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms felt luxurious. The pool was an essential in the Colombian heat and well utilised by us. I strongly recommend the massage parlour !

GermanyI stayed at Eco Hostal Yuluka as a solo traveller to explore Tayrona Nationalpark. The Hostal is extremely well located, just a 30 minute walk or a 3 minute bus ride from the East entrance El Zaino. The Hostal is very clean and the dorms with mosquito nets and huge lockers. Isabella and Klara from the reception were a delight and also Mike from the restaurant was kind and extremely helpful, I felt very looked after and welcomed. They also practised Spanish with me, muchas gracias por eso :) Overall a wonderful stay and I would definitely stay here again in the future!

CanadaThe hostel dogs bark a lot (including at night) so if you’re staying in the rooms close to the reception area, it may be annoying.
Beautiful grounds. Staff (especially Miguel) were amazing and had helpful tips. Free shuttle to park entrance was great and so was the free laundry. The food was really tasty and they could cater for vegans well. The private room we stayed in was nice and big and felt very private.

GermanyBreakfast could have been a bit better and it’s very loud due to its location at the Main Street. For me it was ok because thar made it very accessible.
I really enjoyed my stay! Everything was comfortable and clean, staff was amazingly friendly and me and my friend could store our luggage to go to Tayrona, it has a social vibe, I liked the food in the restaurant and the cute dogs strolling around.

AustraliaWe appreciated the shuttle to Tayrona however it would be better if the shuttle left earlier as the line was 2 hours long when we arrived.
Great stay! We enjoyed the private room with a lovely balcony to relax on. Pool was great, surrounded by nature, staff do a great job keeping the outdoor areas tidy. Kitchen with filtered water & a washing machine for free use .

United KingdomThe locks from the inside of the room were weak, it was fine locking from the outside though. The breakfast was basic, not amazing.
Good location very near to Tayrona National Park, we liked that it had its own kitchen so we could make our own evening meals. Nice pool and the room we were in was very spacious with a nice outside shower and it had a massive balcony with 2 hammocks. I want to particularly shout out Miguel who was really helpful, answering our questions and giving advice. We liked being surrounded by nature and spotted an iguana by the pool! If you don’t like being immersed in nature though then this isn’t the place for you.

United StatesThe staff was a huge cherry on top of this beautiful boutique hotel. Mike and Sharon really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable as well as sharing a wealth of knowledge of northern Colombia! Seriously, thank you so much! The spa... OMG, the spa! My fiance and I booked spa packages together on our last morning at Yuluka and both agreed that it was one of the best massages and spa packages we have ever had. My fiance has experiences with spas all over the world. So definitely treat yourself to one of the best and least expensive spa experiences in the world. Our masseuses, Liz and Margaret were incredible! Yuluka is much more like a boutique hotel than a hostel. It does have laundry and kitchen facilities common to nice hostels. But the private rooms and beauty of the grounds are Four Star boutique hotel level. There are many stairs to get around the grounds, but rather than feeling burdensome, it created a feeling of privacy and tranquility with the many levels and spaces for lush flora and fauna. The rooms are expansive and comfortable. We stayed in early January 2025. The overhead fan was adequate to cool us off at night through the mosquito net. We would have enjoyed a couple side tables and/or chairs in the room, but I think the mosquito net and patio hammocks are the reason for their absence. The room and bathroom were clean and tidy when we arrived and the room was cleaned and bed made during our 2 night stay. There were some tiny millipedes that found their way into the room, but that was of no surprise in the lush tropical forest locale of the hotel and common across most of our lodging while traveling for two weeks in northern Colombia. Roughly half of the walls of our room were mesh screened to allow breeze to cool the room. There were curtains that also allowed air flow, but didn't block all view into the rooms at night with interior lights on. Not a problem for us and there was almost no foot traffic by our room.
The complementary breakfast was light, but delicious. The kitchen staff even made us a quick breakfast special when we were cutting it close for the Tayrona Park shuttle. The drinks and dinner at the restaurant were wonderful and very affordable. The pool was beautiful, albeit a tiny bit cloudy. We didn't swim, despite intentions to do so after hiking the park because we were just too tired.

United KingdomThe staff were very welcoming and friendly. The hostal is in a beautiful location in the jungle and the food was exceptional. We stayed in the baranquero room for a night and it was so beautiful. The pool was lovely and had a slide. We also had massages which we really enjoyed and would definitely recommend. Stayed here for a night before going to tayrona and loved it so much that we booked in for another night when we came back.

United StatesThe only complaint I had was that the room and bathroom had these wormy millipede looking bugs that managed to get in and they would crawl until they were dead on the floor or in the tub. I'm not sure what can be done to keep out bugs in the jungle but that was a bit annoying.
They have a nice pool near the entrance to enjoy, and I surprisingly didn't find myself covered in mosquito bites after sitting there to read at dusk (I am their favorite food). The young man who checked me in was nice and carried my luggage up the rather long stairs to the rooms. Remember when you're visiting that the property is on a hill and the rooms are up above the pool and check-in. They have a nice outdoor restaurant space and a good menu that they will cook for you, and I got a ham and cheese toastie for breakfast to take on my hike in the park. The location is just about 5 minutes from the entrance and they were so nice to drop me off since there weren't other guests going that morning. I could take a motorbike back that afternoon for about 3.000 pesos.
