Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

FranceWatchakyta is such a unique and wonderful place to relax and disconnect: the beach is beautiful, the place is calm, there is no noise but those of nature. The team working there is absolutely amazing, everyone is super nice and as helpful as possible. We stayed 3 nights and it was the perfect spot to get some rest, swim and sleep on the beach, contemplating the ocean bay :) We will keep lovely memories from our stay here!

ItalyThis place is simply heavenly. One of the most beautiful beach resort we have ever been. Only a few wooden bungalow on the beach, literally a few steps from the water, fully immersed in a lush nature. The accommodations are lovely, decorated with wood and organic fabrics, clean and just perfect in every detail. Food and cocktails are simply delicious, and you can have lunch and dinner literally on the beach, barefoot. The staff is so nice, always available to make your stay comfortable and relaxed. We could never recommend this place more. It’s such a blessing to spend a few days here.

SwitzerlandThere are plenty of insects like cockroaches, you really need to a friend of them (fortunately they provice a good net for the bed so no issues with them during the night). The boat ride to get there can be quiet harsh.
Cata was a wonderful host and helped us with all of our needs to make it the best stay possible. The beach is very georgeous and it is so calm and quiet, the paradise was real. And the food was super too, every meal was super delicious

AustriaInvesting in better snorkel gear would go a long way.
A (maybe not so hidden) gem. Want to spend some time remote on beautiful beach, guess thats your spot. Great place to snorkel or just relax. Good food. Lovely dog and cat. Many animals to see, underwater, at the beach or on the little trek into the jungle. Friendly, welcoming staff. Would go there again and recommend it to anyone who can spare a few days/nights.

Beautiful stunning place with a private beach. It was so peaceful, not loud music or people, felt like paradise. The food was also great and the staff was very attentive. It’s worth the rocky boat journey to get here - would come back!

United KingdomI wish they had had more sweet food choices. I have a sweet tooth and sometimes really wanted some chocolate or something.
It’s hard not to oversell this place as it’s so fantastic. If you want to pretend you’re Robinson Crusoe, stranded on one of the most beautiful beaches in Tayrona, this is the place. I picked this place because I wanted a swimmable beach inside the park. I didn’t want to have to walk to Cabo San Juan, which I’d heard is full of backpackers taking selfies. I wanted to step out of my room and into the sea. And that’s what I got here. Every morning I got a coffee from the bar (always a full urn freshly brewed) and enjoyed it on some driftwood on the beach, before taking a dip. Usually Tinto, the resident doggy, would sit with me watch the waves. Things to do: relax in the beach, relax on a swing on the beach, relax in one of the daybeds on the beach, relax with a cocktail on some cushions on the beach, relax in your room. Read, swim, sunbathe, watch the birds, play with the cats. This place isn’t a Maldives resort where they remove bugs from the sand using tweezers and a haute cuisine dinner is served every night. Amongst the makeshift luxury, it’s still basic. (However, the food is hearty and plentiful.) And that’s what makes it so unique. You’re really in nature. There’s lizards and crabs crawling about everywhere (the bugs are there too but they’re not nearly as bad as some of the reviews suggest). Every so often a great wave of insect or lizard song (I could never work out what it was) drowns out the sound of the waves lapping on the shore, and then dies down 10 seconds later. Take a kayak out into the bay. The water is calm and it’s an easy little paddle. Then just sit there and watch the birds, take in the view of the jungle towering over the beach, or enjoy the show the sunset puts on every night. If you’re really lucky you’ll get a thunderstorm as you climb into bed. And the staff are just lovely. A real gang of castaways keeping the place in running order.

NetherlandsIt’s called an ecolodge but sometimes they used pesticides on the premises. Maybe there is an alternative they could use?

ColombiaThey should have more kayaks and paddles available...Only one kayak and one paddle for the whole hotel. I totally understand the concept of the rustic accommodations and that it being inside a national park, only accesible by boat makes it very hard logistically to do construction and bring materials. However, our room definitely needed some fixes and updating...there were broken and rotten floor boards for example. Also, with 3 beds they really could use at least 1 or 2 more small fans for the evening. There was heat wave in the region during our visit so it was very hot in the evening.
It is a beautiful, rustic beach hotel on a super private and gorgeous beach. Food was also pretty good as well. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. It really is paradise and we will definitely return in the future!

ItalyAs someone who isn't in best terms with insects and boats, and as a woman travelling solo, I hesitated a lot before booking. But I'm so glad I decided to stay here in the end! Stunning location, great and friendly staff (including the dog), and well equipped eco lodge. The views were stunning and the food, delicious! Get ready cause, as mentioned by others, the boat ride can be tough. But it's totally worth it.

United KingdomThat we had to leave
I’m writing this for the benefit of those who are thinking about booking and reading posts that seem to comment without understanding what Wachakyta is about. It scored 10 because the whole experience was brilliant. Where else in the world can you spend the night on a deserted beach, with a chef, a bar, unlimited water, coffee tea etc etc? There is also free wifi (which didn’t always work when you were away from the main area). But you have to realise you are in a beach hut. You’ll get critters, wind, the sound of the sea and everything nature has. Sure, you’ll also have a comfortable bed, good quality sheets (and a mozzie net) so it’s not without some creature comforts. The prices charged for food and drink were perfectly fine given everything (including you!!) has to be delivered by boat. And the food is cooked to order… they will come to find you about two hours before lunch or dinner and you make your selection and choose the time. The boat, by the way, is a separate business but you’ll get details on how to book and as someone who speaks only a little Spanish, the whole process was done by what’s app. They picked us up at 4.20 on the Wednesday exactly as promised. And that, my friends, is our summary. This is a get away from the world place. Enjoy nature, wildlife, the sun, the stars and escape.

IrelandThe place could benefit from a small upgrade to their trail signs. Tinto the best doggo was a great guide, but the vines got so thick we couldn't see where he went (and we probably would have needed a machete to follow to the end). Some signs or info on the different birds, animals, trees, plants, insects, and fish to look out for while exploring could make it really interesting.
Private paradise beach. Shout-out to Kata and Mario for looking after our every need (Mario should probably open a cocktail / juice bar), and the kitchen staff for amazing meals. There's amazing snorkeling at your doorstep with a reef home to coral and fish of every color, shape and size. We had some of the best sleeps of our lives listening to the waves crash on the shore.

United KingdomNothing that we didn’t expect from an ecolodge in the jungle, set meal times, cockroaches in the room by night and squirrels eating nuts on the balcony was all part of the experience!
This is the epitome of an ecolodge. Tranquil, beautiful beach right in the heart of the jungle with creatures a plenty! The staff including Cata and Mario were very welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Food was good and relaxing on the beach by day was lovely. The boat ride to get to the beach was also fine as sea was very calm.
