Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOur room looked out directly into the laundry room and had little natural light. A group of young people stayed in the hotel when we were there and they were quite loud in the middle of the night.
The hotel is centrally located and has some undeniable old-fashioned charm. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomA desk in the room is necessary if guests need to do job with laptop computers. The shower head must be replaced for a new one as there is water spillage.
I was so happy to stay in one of the largest and more comfortables rooms the hotel has, not only the wide space for me to use but the balcony I had access to. From there I could spent some moments in the morning to have a view of Pereira's main roads in center ville. I enjoyed of a nice local breakfast everyday, pretty basic but enough to start your day as there are plenty of cafeterias and restaurants around. Also, the classic aspect of the entire hotel is beautiful and so pleasant to be surrounded by it. I want to highlight the accurate job of the cleaning and kitchen staff who were friendly, smiley and helpful at all times. An special mention to Jefferson, who is the barman at the Fondita, who I shared some words about the Colombian Coffee culture with. Another special mention goes to the senior waiter at lunch time who was always attentive, smiley, fast and keen to explain the lunch choices of the day. Ladies at reception also deserve a mention when at helping with check in or check out details. Hopefully the administration keeps them all for long time as they are remarkable professionals. Having the heart of ther city handy is the privilege of El Gran Hotel; bus stops, cafeterias, restaurants, souvenir shops, farmacies, fashion shops, malls and Plaza de Bolivar main square.

United StatesYou can hear a lot of the street if your room faces that way and can be kind loud at times.
Good area, such friendly and helpful staff. I didnt have much time in the city and needed help. They gave me lots of options for an itinerary. My family joined later which I was doing an excursion and they felt super helped by the staff too. The decor of the hotel and rooms was also very nice. Near lots of things to do.

CyprusBecause the hotel is in the city's center, it is too dangerous to leave the hotel alone in the night. Most of the time I had hot water available in the bathroom, but not always. The breakfast isn't bad, but you really should like scrambled eggs for breakfast - you will get them every day!
The hotel is located in the city's center near nice restaurants and cafes. The personell is very friendly, helpful and trying to resolve issues. After some complaints I got a bigger room with a nicer view. Beds were comfortable. The WiFi is pretty stable.

United StatesThe breakfast room was hot and I was not impressed with the food items, but it was free. I only ate 1 day out of the 5 days I was there. Also because the hotel is on a corner where traffic is constant I didn't get good quality sleep. I couldn't close the window because my room didn't have AC. I believe some rooms do have ACs.
Location is perfect for eating and shopping. The rooms get cleaned every day. The staff is very attentive to your every need. The area seems safe. Very affordable oh

BelgiumThe breakfast the first night I stayed there was really terrible. Although the fruit in Colombia is delicious, the tiny bit of fruit served under plastic wrap should have been thrown in the garbage. The staff asked me how I wanted my eggs, but when the scrambled eggs came, cold, there was ham mixed in, which I told them I did not want. The coffee was undrinkable. The bread rolls served were stale. There wasn’t a real fruit juice, more like a powder mixed with water. I commented to the reception about this terrible breakfast and the fact that they claim to be a four-star hotel. The second time I stayed there the quality of the fruit had improved (though not the quantity), but the rest of the breakfast was just as bad. It’s a big hotel, with meeting rooms, large reception area, which must have been better in the past. Personally, I was not impressed.
I stayed here one night, left some my luggage while I went to another city, and then came back two days later. I was happy to leave my luggage there to make for a lighter load. The bed was fairly comfortable, with plenty of pillows and blankets. There were toiletries in the bathroom. The WiFi worked well. There was a large fridge and once I plugged it in, it kept my bottle of water cold. The room was not on the street side, so it was more quiet, except for noisy guests in the room next door. The TV was able to get a couple of English channels. There was hot and cold water down a half a flight of stairs. It seemed there was a fitness room next to that. The hotel was located very near Bolivar Square. On my second night there, the staff tried to accommodate my complaints with a lot of patience and eventually gave me a better room.
