Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThis is a comfortable, historic home in a quiet town. Luz is a wonderful host and makes the space feel like home! Lots of friendly people to meet and places to explore in this area too (coffee/cacao farms, cafes, cultural centers, playing tejo). The town comes to life during the weekend (Fri-Sun) when people from surrounding fincas come to sell market goods and do weekly shopping.

SwedenThe thin walls don’t stop the traffic sounds outside, so it’s a bit noisy. Probably better to look for a room facing the garden side.
Good location in the nice small town of Pijao, with a very helpful and nice lady who helped us find guides and do excursions. She made the place well worth it. The house is rustic and full of charm, and the room we had was very large, clean and airy. Beds we comfortable, and there’s a nice sitting area where birds show up at times. Communal toilet and shower was fine.

AustraliaThe house is delightful with great deco with wide floor boards and high ceilings. It’s clean and quiet, being just a 5 min stroll from the town plaza. Luz the host, is a lovely woman with a passion for sharing her Colombian heritage. My Spanish language level is beginner but she really helped me to speak it as much as possible.

The kind Ladies who own this property made me feel like I’m at home, and made sure I was properly prepared for a hike to a nearby village. I’d recommend the breakfast too.

LatviaMy room didn't have a window, but that wasn't so bad as it was 1 m from the terrace. The shower is also veery close to the terrace and the cooking area, so maybe did not feel very private - although it did provide an amazing view of the mountains.
A very memorable stay in a lovely hostel. The owner, Luz, was very friendly and helpful, and we shared some interesting chats despite not having a language in common :) Amazing terrace, cats, birds. Very decent breakfast.

Very lovely host, talked a lot (mostly about food). Has a garden with nice fruits & herbs, which she can tell you passionately about. Made dinner together my last night of stay.

FranceI loved it all. I came for a few days and ended up staying a whole week ! This hostel really is a gem. The location is great. The facilities are just ... I mean, can you imagine having your breakfast with such a beautiful view of the mountains, watching the birds come and go ? This is just heaven. There is also solid wifi, so that as a digital nomad I could work (in stunning environment) without a problem. The breakfast are so delicious that you're just looking forward to it every morning... and the best of the best is the owner of the hostel, Doña Luz, who is just a diamond ! A woman with a warm heart, with lots and lots of advices to visit the surroundings of Pijao, who makes you feel at home and with who you laugh from the morning to the evening. I just left and I already miss this place !!

NetherlandsCasa Victoria is a very nice hostel-like hotel, in a classic building. The showers for the two main rooms are just fabulous (the view, hah, and yes, they're next to the balcony area). The people running it are super sweet, the rooms are between adequate and very nice, the basic comforts are taken care of and the atmosphere is very nice. Breakfast cooked by the host whilst discussing travel, fruits, life is just a nice experience. I'd stay a week to relax and slow-discover the environment (Pijao is a nice remote'ish valley village, sitting on a terrace watching the local world go by or going for a walk in the surrounding nature are a few good options).

ColombiaI had limited knowledge of this hostel as I didn't really read the reviews, but only knew that the location seemed fine and the price was reasonable, also the photos showed a simple set up which I was happy with. Its fair to say I could have stayed in Pijao longer just to stay at Casa Victoria! This place is solely owned by Doña Luz who treats you as a friend/family member. Luz is the most wonderful genuine person who gets so much joy from having guests stay with her. I spent so much time chatting to her whilst she cooked and made coffee in the kitchen. And the kitchen needs to be mentioned here because the view from kitchen/living room is just spectacular and its not shown in any of the photos. Birds visit whilst you sit and drink coffee. It was a very peaceful and beautiful way to wake up in the morning. Nos vemos la proxima año Luz para comer pan de masa madre :D

United StatesFor some people, it may be cumbersome to have to ring a doorbell to get in and also to wait to be let out so the door can be locked behind you. Also, there are multiple security cameras on the premises, but there was no lock for my bedroom door.
Luz is a helpful, fun host. The open "balcony" has a great view. The rooms, doors, and overall place are different than your standard spot; for example, a broken-off plastic clothes hanger piece is the lock on the bathroom door. The building is on the way into town from Armenia and then on the way out if you are returning there.

United KingdomNot much to do in Pijao (and the one restaurant open for dinner is not very good!), although host was very helpful with finding walking routes. Cooking facilities very limited.
Host very helpful but just ask her to speak slowly if you're not a native speaker! Old-school small, friendly hostel with small sociable area with hammock and games. Very secure and main door always locked and monitored.

United KingdomNothing. All ways great.
The host (Luz) is awesome. So friendly and talkative :-) She goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and made us a nice breakfast. The rooms are big and the beds the most comfortable we have slept on in Colombia. There is a lovely spot to have breakfast and relax in the evening that looks out over the river. Lots of nice birds in the trees. The shower was hot, which was a pleasant surprise. The town itself is cute and very local. We felt safe there and in the town and hotel. We loved our stay and won't forget it. Thank you Luz 🥰
