Location is great close to the square. Nice and relaxed vibe Superior Queen Room was nice and bright Staff were helpful and nice, they made breakfast a bit earlier for us as we had to leave early

The location is on the main street in the small town of Santa Rosa de Cabal, the staff are very friendly, the hostel is so charming with the garden, places to relax, and assorted pets.

The mattress was covered in some kind of rubber or plastic. There were geese in the backward so you had to watch that you didn’t step in their excrements. The area with the hammocks looked old and dusty. We had booked the room with the balcony which looked charming in the photos, but is facing out to the Main Street, but were offered a newer room in the back, which we appreciated. However there was still notice from the bars until two AM.

Staff was pleasant and friendly. We had a room in the back with a nice view over the mountains. When I requested a boiled egg in stead of scrambled they accommodated me. They offered to clean the room every day.

No shared kitchen but they let me boil hot water for tea which was very nice.

Very comfortable bed, delicious breakfast, very accommodating staff, soft blankets, two towels provided, soap in the bathroom.

- Wi-Fi (though very fast and stable all over the place) didn’t reach our room (which was the last one in the back), therefore I would suggest taking a room with “patio view”

- Good location, right in the middle of the main street, close to bus stops and transport hubs - very friendly staff - Very quiet - Nice sociable room in the kitchen and the garden

Not the fault of the hostel but the area felt a bit rough. We couldn't work out how to get a warm shower.

Amazing!!! Everything was super clean and beautiful with bright colors. The breakfast was amazing and the room was comfortable. They gave us extra blankets that were super comfy too. There is a beautiful place with lights and chairs to sit at night, it was so beautiful we ordered food to go just to stay there. The location is safe and close to everything. Daniela was absolutely amazing with THE BEST recommendations. I hope she gets a raise because our trip would have been difficult without her. She showed us the best thermals to go to, the best lunch place and the best authentic chorizo. She was extremely kind and accommodating and made our trip so memorable. We will definitely be going back.

Excellent hostal. It feels more like a hotel than a hostal. The bed was comfortable, the shower had hot water and the room was very clean. The breakfast was the normal basis fruit, eggs and coffee but for the cost it was perfect. The host is super helpful and really looked after us. Highly recommend if you’re looking to visit the thermal spas near by.

I absolutely loved my stay here! The friendly and accommodating staff made me feel right at home. The ambience is perfect for a peaceful and relaxing stay, the breakfast is very good and the rooms are clean and comfortable. You can also enjoy the hammocks outside the rooms, access a fully equipped kitchen and the laundry service is very convenient. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city. I highly recommend Hostal Don José to everyone visiting Santa Rosa de Cabal!

The hostel staff were the NICEST people we met in Colombia. They were willing to WhatsApp 24/7 and always available for any question. Really warmed your heart

- The hosts are right. The nice rooms with balcony in the front are loud. If offered a quieter option, you should seriously consider it!

- Wonderful hosts. On arrival, they offered us room options without us asking, as the room with balcony we booked was above loud street. We didn't take them up on the offer, but should have. - Very helpful for visit to the hot springs nearby. Staff eager to provide options, transportation details, etc. - Nice breakfast.

Nothing! We had a great stay :)

This was an amazing place to stay. The staff were unbelievably friendly, treating us like their own family :) they helped us get tickets to the hot springs, helped us arrange transport and even cooked us up a delicious Chorizo Santarosano. Special shout-out to Daniela who greeted us at reception and made sure our short stay in Santa Rosa was perfect. Wholeheartedly recommend!!
