Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. I would have stayed longer if there was some natural light to the room and some more space for my clothes, but it was perfect for a short stay upon arrival in Medellin.
Great location, very friendly staff, comfortable bed. Very safe and cosy.

Only suggestion is to put hooks in the bathrooms to hang towels and clothes while showering.
Only good things to say about this casa! I stayed in the purple room which was spacious and had a window. The kitchen is well-equipped and the house is a quiet haven from Medellin’s busy streets. It’s not a party house, but a place to relax and get some rest if you’ve been on the road a while. The neighbourhood is great, quiet and close to buses and there’s supermarkets/pharmacies/banks around. The house is cleaned multiple times a day and bathrooms are always spotless. Most of all, Aidé was very welcoming and always available if I need anything. Gracias por todo!

Brilliant stay in a lovely area. The staff were all incredibly friendly and accommodating. I returned again after a few days away because I had such a great stay. The hostel is very clean and quiet and located in a brilliant area. Fantastic value for money. Thank you so much to all of the staff - you are simply wonderful!

First time in this hostel, I really liked the area, super well-kept with lots of greenery, they were very friendly, kind and professional. The room was very clean and in addition every day they tidied it up, highly recommended.

The kitchen closing at 9pm, internet not very good in the other rooms in the end of the building, so not possible to work from inside..room a bit noisy the one close to the reception.
Good quality price option..the animals were very nice..good location.

If you want to meet people, this is not the place.
The location of the place is excellent. Feels very safe, even walking alone at night. Shops and restaurants nearby. Overall, it was very clean. The bed and pillows weren't that comfortable, but not terrible either. Not the hostel's fault, but there are a lot of mosquitos, so I do not recommend the rooms with windows. Not a social homestay, but it is good if you have to work or want a really good night sleep. I was allowed an early check-in and could leave my bags until really late the day of check out, so very much appreciated

Fantastic location between Belen & Laureles. Loved the neighbourhood, super friendly, panaderia 2 doors down and a small local shop that sold pretty much everything 3mins away. Perfect kitchen, these guys are eco friendly! A caring family and loved all their pets 🥰

I ended up taking more Ubers than I planned due to the distance from metro but also, Medellín is very big! Also, the quiet hours are very quiet and after 9 I felt I needed to stay in my room basically as all the lights were turned off and it was very quiet. At the same time, there was lots of noise early in the morning which was a bit challenging as a night owl! But really minor things and this hostel can be perfect for many people especially those who go to bed early and wake up early
Really clean space and really sweet staff! Good location not super touristy but close to lots of cafes and places to eat/drink. Felt like a safe neighborhood

The walls are thin so sound travels
The vibe is really nice here because of the staff who are both lovely. It's comfortable and the best you can expect from the price. Shower and bathroom is decent. Bed is comfortable and the room is spacious.

Everything was super fine! I think that investing time on the distribution and forniture of the spaces (Feng Shui) could add value to the lovely Laurele's artists and travellers house.
The ubication and staff are amazing, the house has a wonderful energy. I visited them twice and I will come back. Their coffee is top notch :)

Enchanting place, the environment is familiar and humble, it is perfect for those who want to live an experience in a Colombian family, whatever you need they try to satisfy your needs. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the common areas excellent for relaxing. The neighborhood is beautiful and not very touristy so you can have an authentic experience, there are restaurants, bars, supermarkets just a few meters away. I recommend this place. There is no table besides the bed in the red room and there is no possibility to turn the light off at the bed. And also there is no lamp at the bed :) would be a huge improvement to change that.
