Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Great location, within walking distance to the main square. Warm and welcoming receptionist from the shop. Clean kitchen and living room. The bathroom had a small leak, but it was cleaned frequently. Felt very safe throughout the stay.

The bathrooms were cleaned daily, but were used a lot and from hikers that were messy. So it could use cleaning twice a day, since there are a lot of trekkers/hikers.
The kitchen was clean and you could cook if you wanted. The room had a balcony.

The staff at the hostel were extremely polite. They helped me with any difficulties I had during my stay there. They gave me a lot of useful advice and we became friends.

The beds are too hard and the pillows are covered in a plastic sheet under the cover which makes it noisy and uncomfortable (in the private rooms)

No social vibes
The hostel is not too far from the main square, in a road where there are also a couple of other hostels. There's a laundry in the building.

Some guests were very noisy at around 3-4am and weren't respectful about other guests' sleeping hours at all. If you pay by card, there's an extra fee.
Very welcoming and friendly staff! I had an issue with an airline and the receptionist even lent me her phone to give the airline a call. Great location - not too far from the city centre but still in a quiet enough street

The girl at the front desk was super nice and helpful. I didn’t get their name though. Hostel is well located and felt very welcomed by the staff.

Very practical Hostel in everyway: very clean, Kitchen well equipped to cook and even to make smoothies. Hot shower available. Very comfi beds. Awesome staff: I sprained my ankle and needed an orthopedic. Well they did found one for me in such a small village on a Saturday night. I'm very grateful to this place. They were also very helpful with any transportation tipp i needed

Very very nice hostel in Salento, close to the center of the town, but enough far to not be disturbed by music or noise. The kitchen was well equiped. The room has a small locker for valuables, the beds were quite comfortable and each one had an electric plug. The staff was super super nice!

Very nice accommodation, spacious private room, the receptionist was very kind to wait for us since we arrive late to the hostel. Facilities are good, water pressure is great, hot water works perfectly (and very well needed). There’s a small store downstairs where you can do laundry for a small price.

If I have to dislike something the water pressure in the big bathroom was a little too strong. There’s really nothing to dislike, it’s a basic hostel, cheaper than other options. I’m not sure if they offer private rooms, but it would be nice if they did.
Clean, not a lot of street noise aside from the occasional car and morning horse trot. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. There was hot water in the shower. Not too far from the main square. And they have laundry service!
