Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainOnly thing is the waiter definitely overcharged us for breakfast and one dinner, must have just been a misunderstanding but just a bit annoying - nothing other than that it’s the perfect stopover before or after the park :)
We stayed here after doing Tayrona and it was perfect, very close to the park entrance, the staff were great, room was big and comfortable, and the dog and kitten were so so lovely

United KingdomNothing!
The staff were the friendliest EVER! They went above and beyond to make sure we knew how to get the best out of Tayrona and gave us tips about how to get the bus and the best beaches nearby too. We felt sad to say goodbye! Also the food was amazing, the best in the area and the kitten and dogs that live there were so friendly too. Loved this place ❤️

United KingdomThe lodge is on a main road so don't expect complete silence, however this didn't really bother us too much. Cold water only in the shower and our private jacuzzi, however this is pretty standard at this price range and in this climate it's actually quite refreshing, so not too much of an issue.
Lodge Cacao was a fantastic place to chill out for a couple of days. Our room was spacious and the pool area was lovely. We ate in the evening and a couple of times and the food was good. Really good wifi.

United StatesThe staff doesn't know how to use a debit/credit card, the guy was trying to push my card in the swiping feature and keep on telling it doesn't work; ultimately someone else came and made it work. When arrived, we were told that breakfast would be in the dining area and is from 7 to 9, so we had breakfast thinking it would be included but we ended up paying 40K pesos ($10) for one egg, 1/100 of a watermelon and a coffee, no pastries, no juice, nothing else...really felt scammed. They're also not warning in advance but they're charging 5% extra for credit card payment which is a lot... The swimming pools are not warmed at all so they were quite cold, not as enjoyable as it would have been.
The room is nice with a large bed, the bathroom is quite original and practical. We had dinner at their restaurant and it was not only delicious but also large portions. For $2.50 you can ask to have your food delivered in your room.

CanadaLoved everything about Lodge Cacao. From our two greeters Maxi and Lucas, to Alejo and his staff and also to princess Agatha—- they all made our stay worthwhile. Alejo communicates really well and makes sure you’re comfortable every time. He also made sure we had other alternatives of places to visit since Tayrona was closed when we were there. He also safely drove us to the airport. You could tell that he really cares about the place, his staff and the guests. The rooms are quite nice with different characters. We were treated in an oasis because although it was close to the highway once you get in the property you will be surrounded by the nature. We truly had an amazing time and would definitely stay again.

United KingdomThe electricity kept going out throughout my stay, it was out from 10pm until around 8am the next day. Meaning no lights in my room, no fan (it was hot!!) and no wifi. and the staff didn't really seem to apologise - not that it could be helped. Apparently it was due to the winds. It was then in and out all of the next day.
Beautiful views from the room, and private pool but the hot tub feature wasn't working. Right in the jungle. Easy access to el zaino entrance of tayrona national park - 5 mins on local bus that picks you up right from the entrance.

CanadaThe room was nice and very clean. The best part was the bed was so comfortable and BIG. Since I wasn't feeling well this gave me comfort. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. They were able to secure us car on very short notice to our next location in Palamino Beach. We ate at the hotel and the food was good. I would definitely stay here again!

United StatesThe parking area was a little awkward and as a result I ended up dinging the car, but that was mostly my fault. The staff was more than happy to assist with this. The shower was also pretty cold, which is mostly fine during the daytime when the cold water is pretty nice anyways. There were a good amount of bugs, kind of the nature of being in the woods. But overall these are quite small complaints!
The whole experience was amazing! I was most impressed with the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. They were quick to respond to any questions/concerns, and went over the top to help us out when needed (such as helping us out when our car broke and recommending good places to go to fix that and get needed supplies). They also had great recommendations for places in the area to enjoy. The food provided was also excellent. And of course the views of the property were gorgeous, and the rooms were beautiful. Overall huge plus for me!

SwitzerlandWe didn’t realize there are a lot of stairs from to parking lot to most rooms for people with disabilities. So be aware of the stairs for elderly people and people with disabilities.
Julian the owner and Daniel the manager are awesome, hard workers and always trying to make everyone’s stay as pleasant as possible. We spent new year’s eve there and they prepared a very special meal for all the guests. The food was incredible as well, and it is located very close to the Tayrona Natural National Park and other nice beaches in that area like the beach in Mendihuaca (Costeño Beach).

CanadaThere is some road noise, but the fans in the room did a good job of drowning it out. The road noise wouldn’t be any worse than any other accommodation along this stretch, though. We got a little pool by our room. We really loved how it added to the aesthetic of the place, but we didn’t end up using it. The staff came to clear larger debris out of it every day, but the nature of where it was made it hard to keep crystal clear. I’m sure it would have been just fine to swim in, but there is such a nice pool by reception that they can afford to spend more time on that we preferred to swim there. It really wasn’t a knock on our experience at all.
The staff were phenomenal. They were so kind and helpful. We dealt mostly with David and Alejo, both of whom spoke really good English, and they were very genuine, interested, and nice. The other staff were also great and were happy to try to chat with us in our broken Spanish. The food was really tasty. The ingredients felt high quality and the cooks were really good. The camarones con salsa de coco y ajo was especially good. The cabins were really cool. It felt like we were staying in a treehouse, with plenty of monkeys and birds at eye-level while we lounged in the hammocks. The bed was comfortable and everything was kept really clean by the staff.
