Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ColombiaJust a heads-up for anyone planning this trip. The route between these two locations can be pretty challenging. It's advisable to check recent road reports before heading out. Be prepared for some tricky driving conditions. But it's handable.
Wow, this place looks incredible for nature lovers! I can totally see myself getting lost in the scenery and just breathing in the fresh air. It seems like the perfect spot to escape the everyday hustle. I'm definitely adding this to my list of places to go again.

United KingdomThe road is a bit sketchy when arriving, better to get a moto than a 4x4. It’s worth it when you arrive.
We loved our stay at Mano Verde! It was so comfortable and welcoming. The food was delicious and plentiful. They had routes for hikes available and were happy to call you a moto whenever. We didn’t want to leave!

GermanyThe ride up with a 4x4 was quite bumpy, so we recommend staying for several nights to truly enjoy the experience and make the journey worthwhile.
A true hidden gem in the heart of nature! Mano Verde offers breathtaking jungle views, incredible birdwatching (yes, plenty of toucans!), and peaceful hike to waterfall. We loved the warm welcome from the so friendly team, the cozy room with hot shower and the delicious food. Pure paradise for nature lovers — can’t recommend it enough! We consciously chose this eco-friendly hostel to travel sustainably — and didn’t miss a single bit of comfort. If you’re especially interested in the birdwatching tour, it’s best to check in advance to make sure it’s available during your stay.

France- little possibility to hang clothes - wood cracks loudly - no fridge or place to prepare your own food
- amazing view and sounds from nature - very good food, everyone eats dinner together - bid dorms - tap water is safe to drink

AustriaLocation, staff, the wooden house, the dorms, the excellent food and joint meals (also vegetarian alternative): everything of highest standard. Valentin and his team (including the two dogs) are wonderful and the place is in the middle of nature/wildlife: hikes are varied and you can watch/hear many birds and see beautiful sunsets. The 40 minute ride by mototaxi to the hostel is great, a little adventure included. I will definitely come back, but then stay longer!

AustraliaBeing a wooden building, if anyone walks around at night it is very echoey. Quiet time starts at 10pm which is good but best to use earplugs.
Beautiful views, lovely staff, lots of places to relax and enjoy nature. Good starting point for walks such as el jaguar. Meals were homemade and high quality, and it was nice to eat at the table with everyone else. Great place for nature lovers and those who enjoy peace and quiet.

United StatesThe way the floors are built makes for a very noisy night. Every step someone takes on the second floor sounds like they are jumping up and down right next to your bed. As with everywhere around Minca, the bugs are everywhere. Bug spray not optional. There is also a whole main common room that is kind of a weird dead space, would like to see them make that area a little more inviting.
Location is great and quite an adventure to get to. Before you book you should be aware that it’s a gnarly 40m moto ride to get up there. Once you’re up there though, THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE. There was also a nice social atmosphere so it was easy to meet people to go on the hikes around the area with. This was the perfect place to have a super mellow weekend. Clean showers, clean rooms, good WiFi.

Netherlandsonly thing is that it can be a bit noisy, but that could have been me - as i tried to do some work in between. Put in earplugs and you´re ready to go
The staff, the place, the surroundings, the adventure and what i LOVE is that you become a family with the together dinners. It really is a big plus for a solo traveller to have a set dinner time, in order to bond with the other travellers

FranceThis hostel doesn't put a foot wrong. The surroundings are beautiful, the rooms are comfy, the building itself is gorgeous and spotless, the food is excellent and served communally at a single large table. To make things even better, the prices are extremely reasonable. You can hike there from Minca or Cuchilla San Lorenzo. Most people get here with moto taxis.

Helena and the other staff were so nice, it was a real pleasure! Bathroom, dorm and other services on a high standard! The view from the porch was one of the most amazing of my life. The wildlife in the area is really exciting, although you have to walk a little to enter more remote areas.

This place exceeded my expectations by far. It is a place to truly find peace and disconnect from the rest of the world. The staff is super friendly and helps you with anything you need. We ended up staying for a week here! Moreover for an additional reasonable charge they will prepare you breakfast lunch and dinner. The food is outstandingly good and super healthy. I’d definitely recommend staying here!

FranceWe didn't plan more time here. It would also have been great to telework from here for some days. Next time!
This was our best accommodation in all of Colombia. The view and the calm of the place are just stunning. Stay at least two days to benefit to the fullest. The team there made it a really special experience. They were super inclusive and welcoming. Don't miss the bird watching, the guide is a real local coffee farmer who grew up with the birds. We also enjoyed the great and affordable food (local but veggi friendly), the fresh and drinkable mountain water, and the great coffee breaks with amazing sweets. This place really made our travel special!

It's a really peaceful place and feels like this place will be really popular in a year or so. Great to see birds but best between 6-8am. Well worth trying to come in the morning at this time of year July/Aug as it sometimes rains in the afternoon. Wish I'd stay 2 nights rather than one. Just to note you can do the cerro Kennedy hike and people usually stay the night further near the peak at two hostels there. It's about 4hrs ish to those hostels. You could do it in a day but you'd need to get up early. I didn't have time.

PortugalI found the place a bit too pricy for colombian standarts, and I was charged double for scrambled eggs because they used the double quantity of eggs (?). I would say prices for food should be stated on the property's information. It is quite a detour from the path to Cerro Kennedy, so I advise taking that into account if that's the final destination.
This is a nice, clean and quiet place, surrounded by nature, and great to trekk to the Jaguar waterfall. The rooms are quite comfortable as well. What I enjoyed the most was the staff, that was very joyful and helpful :) The food was delicious.

SloveniaI was in doubt when I found out how far from Minca this location is (from Minca bus terminal 45min by moto) but it was one of the best decisions and favorite stays in Colombia! Staff was very kind (Doris and two girls on their workaway, thank you for everything!), I was lucky enough that on the 1th night I was the only one in the dorm (which btw offers amazing view over Sierra Nevada!), food was really good, place is quite,... so make sure you will come for more than one night :)

I loved the quiet of the place and the attention give to all the little details regarding service. I also loved the fact that the place is relatively small (but they are expanding!) Food is amazing and everyone was always so smiley. Awesome place to rest and also to discover the region.

MoroccoBecause the house is constructed of wood (which is nice), the floor creaks and I was awake with the first person who got up.
You must go there if you are looking for a quiet place with a stunning view and delicious food. You just need to lie in the hammock or do some hiking in the mountains. The stuff gives you a map with some outdoor activities to do around on your own (you'll have the waterfall nearly for yourself ;) You have hot shower and clean bathrooms. A further plus: the stuff speaks english! You'll easily want to extend your stay there.
