The small bedside rack at my bed was broken so I couldn’t put my phone or water on it, please fix it! Also would have been better if there are more hangers in the bathrooms.

Bed was so comfy. Hostel was clean. Lots of good restaurants around the hostel in a safe neighborhood.

A Wonderful Stay at Marietta House in Chapinero

What an amazing experience it was to stay in the Chapinero area of Bogotá! The neighborhood is full of charm, with beautiful old-style colonial homes and stunning Spanish architecture everywhere you look. From the moment I arrived at Marietta House, I felt completely welcomed. The staff were warm, personal, and friendly, yet always professional. The building itself is absolutely beautiful—an old house that’s been tastefully renovated while preserving its character. There's a special energy inside that made me feel right at home. The rooms were cozy, with very comfortable mattresses and clean, fresh sheets. The common areas are great too, with a pool table, relaxing lounge spaces, and a well-equipped, comfortable kitchen. I loved the smell of delicious food being cooked by guests from all over the world. During my stay, I met people from France, Peru, Germany, and Colombia—it was a truly international and enriching experience. The location is also excellent—just a short walk from Carrera 7, which easily connects you to downtown Bogotá, including Plaza Bolívar and La Candelaria. I highly recommend Marietta House and will definitely stay here again the next time I return to Bogotá. Thank you so much to the entire staff for your kind and welcoming hospitality! --- Would you like a shorter version too, or a version in Spanish? PS. They did my laundry in it was sparkling clean.

I can't say there was anything I didn't like. It's a place for social travelers. There's a pool table and lots of rooms to chose from. Always someone at the front desk to help. It's electronic gates security cameras makes you feel safe. So, it's pretty much ones choice 😉 I went for pre colonial history.

I liked the energy of Marietta and the cleanliness and hygiene and privacy of the bathrooms and shower stalls I get breakfast of eggs corn bread fresh squeeze orange juice with coffee every morning affordable, and walking distance You can get huber to anywhere from there. Friendly staff

The rooms smelled bad because of travelers and their laundry, but luckily there are windows in every room that open so that is the silver lining. Sometimes the toliet paper is missing in every bathroom. Suggestions: Little tables could be added to some of the bathrooms, it would be nice to have somewhere to put my stuff that isnt the sink or the toliet. The pool table are is too dark. A proper pool table light would work wonders in there. A lot of the beds wooden platforms were broken or missing completely, fixing those would help. Some of the doors need to be realigned. It causes them to be un-necessarily loud upon opening/closing them (like room 1).

There are a lot of bathrooms and showers. The beds are clean and comfortable and the doors to the shared rooms lock automatically. The lockers are a decent size, and they offered to store my baggage in a secure room if i needed them to. The pool table area is nice to have and there is enough seating on the first floor. The security of the building is solid. There are two doors that lock and need to be opened by the front desk.

Ridiculously loud; bring your earplugs. There is a restaurant on the ground floor that plays music and a super bumping bar right across the street. The room itself is basic and a little worn, but there is nothing to complain about for the price. They cleaned our room during our stay, but rearranged some of our stuff in the process and left a dirty wet rag behind. A bit weird, but nothing went missing. The shower handle broke off when the staff were demonstrating it, but it still worked.

Fantastic location! The surrounding Quinta Camacho area is filled with restaurants and a few bars, and Marietta is away from the super busy main strip.Very safe at all times of day. The best coffee in town is a short walk away at Cafe Cultor. The shower had hot water at all times. Staff were helpful, just be aware that none of them seemed to speak any English. Large room with space to sit and organize your things. The driver they recommended for an airport transport (Cesar) was extremely nice and helpful.

Can’t think of anything. Maybe better curtains in the bedrooms to cover from the light, but really by needing to find something.

Nice, new, clean, lovely and in a safe area. Very good price and nice staff, friendly and accomodating. Lots of restrooms, hot shower, living room with pool table. I would recommend.

    * Half the toilets did not work because inexpensive plastic parts were broken. Some were not fixed during my stay, and if a toilet was fixed, it often broke again within 1-2 days * No one put a sign on the broken toilets, so everyone used them as normal * Only one shower had consistent hot water (the one next to the big shower room), but the others took 2-3 minutes to get warm, even though Bogota has a severe water shortage and water cuts * One morning there was no water and another morning there was no hot water, but the guest were not notified * The day staff was amazing, always cleaning and making sure everything was correct, but the night staff was quite lazy and the baths often had no toilet paper * I hate leaving bad reviews but if the maintenance was better, this would be an awesome hostel!

I spent a week here and loved the hostel and the neighborhood. BUT, after staying at more than 400 hostels during my travels, the maintenance and guest communication needs to be improved.
