Comfy and clean linens… private room was nice! Staff is friendly. I felt very safe throughout my stay (except for when a stranger crawled in my bed, but that’s not the hostels fault.)

I stayed two nights. One night in the dorm (which genuinely sucked) and one night in a private room (which was great) the dorm was awful. The beds are just far enough away from the wall that stuff falls between the cracks, the beds are squeaky and the ladders feel so unsafe. There aren’t enough toilets for how many people are sharing them. They feel so grimly and like…idk wet and sticky.

Extremely helpful staff, giving good advice for airport transfer. Great location, nice cafes and bars nearby.

Great location next to bars and restaurants. Twin room was good, and plenty of toilets and showers for the guests.

Noisy and there was a shortage of toilet paper all the time.

    Great location, nice view.

Should have been warned of extremely loud live music well into the night. Even with earplugs it was unbearable.

Great Location, cleanness,. The taqueria next to the place has a great service and good food, even if you are vegetarian.

Staff. The I took me more than an hour to check in ( the person in charge was not available at 4:00 pm). Overall, they were not the most amicable crew. Not even a smile. BTW, they just have water for sale (just in case you ask where to fill your bottle before departing). Other thing: the shared showers are mixed (female and male). Usually, in other hostels, at least in Colombia, are divided by gender. It took me by surprise. They have two private ones and they are tiny and in one on them the sink is broken.

It's a big hostel with a lot of space and a nice kitchen. The cleaning ladies are super friendly!

The female dorm is very small and has no curtains

Bed was so comfy. Hostel was clean. Lots of good restaurants around the hostel in a safe neighborhood.

The small bedside rack at my bed was broken so I couldn’t put my phone or water on it, please fix it! Also would have been better if there are more hangers in the bathrooms.

Perfect location and the bed was very firm, exactly how I like it.

    My shower didn’t have soap.

What an amazing experience it was to stay in the Chapinero area of Bogotá! The neighborhood is full of charm, with beautiful old-style colonial homes and stunning Spanish architecture everywhere you look. From the moment I arrived at Marietta House, I felt completely welcomed. The staff were warm, personal, and friendly, yet always professional. The building itself is absolutely beautiful—an old house that’s been tastefully renovated while preserving its character. There's a special energy inside that made me feel right at home. The rooms were cozy, with very comfortable mattresses and clean, fresh sheets. The common areas are great too, with a pool table, relaxing lounge spaces, and a well-equipped, comfortable kitchen. I loved the smell of delicious food being cooked by guests from all over the world. During my stay, I met people from France, Peru, Germany, and Colombia—it was a truly international and enriching experience. The location is also excellent—just a short walk from Carrera 7, which easily connects you to downtown Bogotá, including Plaza Bolívar and La Candelaria. I highly recommend Marietta House and will definitely stay here again the next time I return to Bogotá. Thank you so much to the entire staff for your kind and welcoming hospitality! --- Would you like a shorter version too, or a version in Spanish? PS. They did my laundry in it was sparkling clean.

This is a great new hostel in a perfect location, it is on a quiet side street just 1 block from all the noise and shops of the main street. The cleaning staff do an amazing job, the place is spotless and so well cared for. There is a small functional kitchen, a few different indoor common areas, privacy curtains for the dorm beds, lockers in the rooms, and comfy blankets for the colder nights. From this hostel there are about 5 nearby supermarkets within 1-3 blocks, 7th Ave is about 3-4 blocks as well. At night and in the morning the hostel is very, very quiet- after 11pm ( see my comment below ). You can get a good night's sleep here.

I chose this hostel primarily because it had nice common areas from the pictures. In the Bogotá night-time or with rain, it's good to be inside without cold air. However, what the pictures don't show is that these common areas are directly under speakers that play loud music all day. Unfortunately it is actually worse from 7pm-11pm; the staff plays loud rap and reggaeton much too late at night, even when nobody is around. When you arrive at the hostel you agree by signing a paper to respect a 10pm quiet hours. But then staff keep playing music til 11-11:15pm.. not cool. Please, in the evenings, play less aggressive music at a much lower volume, this is what foreign guests expect and it is not pleasant to sit on a couch and read/plan a trip with super loud music right above your head.

I liked the energy of Marietta and the cleanliness and hygiene and privacy of the bathrooms and shower stalls I get breakfast of eggs corn bread fresh squeeze orange juice with coffee every morning affordable, and walking distance You can get huber to anywhere from there. Friendly staff

I can't say there was anything I didn't like. It's a place for social travelers. There's a pool table and lots of rooms to chose from. Always someone at the front desk to help. It's electronic gates security cameras makes you feel safe. So, it's pretty much ones choice 😉 I went for pre colonial history.
