Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceThe location is on the main road up to Salento so the cars can be a bit noisy but we knew this before coming so expected it. As in a lot of Colombia, the rooms are that well sound proofed.
We really enjoyed our stay, the hotel is relaxing and just like the pictures. We made use of the jacuzzi every night and enjoyed the communal areas too.

United StatesThe only thing to note about this place is it is about 1-2km from the center of Salento - on the map it looks close, but you need to be able to arrange a car or grab the bus! We were able to stand out front and grab a bus leaving, but one time the bus blew right by us and we had to wait for the next one. If you are in the center of Salento until late (past 8 or 9pm), you'll need to arrange a private taxi to bring you back. We still loved the place, but worth knowing if you plan on moving back and forth from Salento like we did!
Lovely, quiet spot with comfortable rooms and a cute shared area for dining/relaxing. We ended up being the only two people there (in fairness, it was mid-week in the off-season), but Gloria was SUPER responsive over WhatsApp and really helpful with arranging a coffee tour and getting us around. She even lent us some umbrellas when we got caught in a huge downpour! Loved the hospitality.

United KingdomIn peak season the traffic is heavy so it takes a while to get into town in the afternoon by bus/ on foot.
Great place to stay with a nice relaxed atmosphere and great shared space. Patricia was an excellent host and went out of her way to make sure we got to the airport on time after some delays due to the peak season traffic.

United StatesAs mentioned above, this property is 3km from Salento. We did walk into town the first day but it felt extremely dangerous, as the roads are very windy. You can stand across the street from the hotel and wave down a jeep or a bus. We found it much easier to get into town than to get back to the hotel. Another downfall is that the road is pretty noisy, so traffic is heard all day and night, but we were aware of that before booking.
Patricia and her staff were so kind, helpful, and welcoming from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. She helped us with information about Cocora Valley and Santa Rita waterfall, and we were grateful for her excellent English, as our Spanish is not very good. It was a beautiful retreat 3km from Salento. (Closer to Boquia). Breakfasts every morning were wonderful.

United KingdomTwo things that can’t be helped. Yes, the walls are thin and you can hear the traffic. But that’s something you just get used to it. It does take away from the tranquil setting though. What we can’t get used to is the ignorance of other guests. The room above us sounded like they were jumping on the floor and we could hear every word of theirconversation. We slept very well 2/3 nights.
This hostel is excellent. Pat is the best host we’ve come across. She Will do anything to help and serves a good breakfast. Nice rooms, comfy beds, great showers and good laundry service. Home away from home. Shower gels, boards games, blankets next to the fire, hot tub and two lovely dogs! The bus is easy to flag down on the street to get into Salento and costs next to nothing.

FranceI must say that we had high hope for this accommodation and it was quite pricy for the area, but in the end we were a bit disappointed. We had a room on the ground floor and we could hear every single step of the guests above us (although the other guests weren't loud). It was very difficult to sleep there as the walls are ultra thin.
The host was incredibly helpful and caring, helping us with everything we needed. You can catch a bus from the accommodation to Salento, which is going back and forth quite often. You have a wonderful breakfast and the view is quite extraordinary.

ItalyCasa Mochila is a great place to enjoy Salento and the Eje Cafetero. It’s relaxing, cozy and immersed in the nature. The real plus though is Patricia, the host, who took care of us like we were family, we really felt home. I would recommend Casa Mochila to anybody and wish to come back there myself anytime soon (although I’ve just left it)

Loved the jacuzzi! It is open from 19-22 at night. Very popular, and you meet other guests chilling there too. Very easy to get to the city, either grab a local bus/colectivo or a jeep. Rooms were good, great views! Beautiful Mountain retreat.

CanadaThe service was incredible. The owner was right on top of everything we needed. The food was spectacular, both dinner and breakfast. The laundry service is extra but very worth it considering it's not a lot. The bathrooms were clean and spacious, the bead was comfortable, and having the outlets right by the bedside was amazing.

TurkeySince it's on the roadside you get to hear the cars a little bit, but I didn't mind so much. The place is made of bamboo and wood. Walls are thin. You might want to request one of the upper rooms if you don't want to hear all the action :)
This a boutique hotel formerly designed by an architect. The lady of the house, Patricia, speaks very good English and is very helpful all the way. She travelled quite a bit herself and has wonderful stories to share. This place is right between Salento and Boquia on the road to Salento with excellent views of the valley. Breakfast is typical Colombian with arepa, pan or pancakes with tropical fruits and excellent coffee. I didn't get to use the lovely jacuzzi though :( I would have stayed longer than 4 nights if only it hadn't been fully booked already. Recommended!
