How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewFood was delicious, staff were very friendly with great service, amenities where close by and easy to use. Only a quick boat ride away.
There was a lot of construction going on, we couldn't access one of the pools. The bed and our bedsheets were very dirty. The room itself didn't feel clean. There were flys everywhere. The bedroom needed a good clean and refresh. They only have 1 menu so if you are staying for a few days, it is th same small menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Most people who are there are not staying over so the place completely clears out at 4pm so there is no entertainment or anything happening in the evening, it is very quiet.

Verified reviewThe only things I liked was an octopus and saviche from the menu. That’s All!
Stuff was not helpful nor was it friendly. No warm water in the shower. Way to overpriced or people on the island are just want to take advantage. NOONE speaks a word of English and they don’t care if you don’t understand Spanish or not. They just want your $. Water was dirty and area for swimming was filled with boats and jet skis

Verified reviewThe private beach, the room, the cats and doggies
The pool was in maintenance during our whole stay, this wasn’t informed to us before reserving. At the hotel, the staff wasn’t very helpful, some of them were nice but the majority didn’t feel friendly or helpful at all. We asked if there was a way we could be compensated the pool being in maintenance and they said that it was informed and nothing they would do. Communication within staff was bad, some would say one thing, others would say another. I wouldn’t stay here again

Verified reviewThe beach and the pool is nice. The seafood off the menu is most good.
The food off the menu takes soo long to come, over an hour wait each time we ordered (4 times). In our room the shower overflowed into our room every time we showered. There is loud construction in the hotel during the day. They said it is safe to leave things on the beds on the beach but my daughter’s shoes and drink bottle got stolen. Some of the staff (not all) had a terrible attitude. The place gets very full with day visitors during the day then quiet at night. Some of the rooms are quite shabby, we had 3 rooms.

Verified reviewThe pool was wonderful! We came with our 20 month old twin toddlers and they didn’t want to leave. The room we stayed in was nice and big, the beds were comfortable,
The lunch buffet was exactly the same everyday. We stayed for 4 nights and we were a bit tired of eating the same thing everyday. The breakfast was great with a lot of variety. Overall the food tasted great, just not enough opciones. The menu didn’t have vegetarian options. The last night we asked if they could prepare something vegetarian other than pasta and they did, but it would have been nice to have something on the menu. I also didn’t like the boats and jet skis driving so close to the people swimming. They were going way too fast and it seemed dangerous and they created a lot of waves. It would be nice in the future to arrive at an actual dock. We were traveling with a lot of luggage and having to carry the luggage through the sand with little help and 2 babies it was a challenge. We were not expecting that. The last thing is that I felt the drinks could be a bit stronger, they seemed too weak.

Verified reviewBreakfast was real good , the chicken and French fries was great, my 4 year old loved them. Enjoyed the morning sun rise and the boat ride, the jet ski( a little pricey for 15 minutes, but we understand the hotel doesnt control that), and free canoe rentals was a great experience for the kids. Was a absolute great and relaxing time. I would recommend all to stay at least 1 night and get the whole experience for 24 hours.
No Complaints at all

Verified reviewThe room layout and decor was great, very similar to the photo we chose. The beach, the pool and the ambience were relaxing and amazing. We had so much fun. Also, the paid food and cocktails were delicious.
Unfortunately there were A LOT of small details. For one, when we got to our room, the toilet and toilet paper were dirty. We didn't say anything and cleaned it ourselves, because we figured it was just from leaving the bathroom window open, and debris fell down. But then, one of the bath towels was dirty too. And it was kind of a hassle to get it changed. The staff at reception wasn't really helpful when we told them. The drain in our shower was clogged and water kinda flooded the entire bathroom hall each time we took a shower. And we had to request soap because they didn't give us any at first. Also, the shampoo dispenser was broken. The lights in the room were really dim and some lightbulbs didn't even turn on. We thought it was OK, and even kinda romantic, but then the island had blackouts that rendered the lights and ac useless for most of the second night. I get it's not their fault, but they should've have measures in place. The included breakfast was meh. Bland, small portions accosted by flies and the waiters were not very helpful. Our biggest complaint has to be the boarding of the ship to the island. We expected to board on a pier, but instead it was a small boat floating a few meters from the shore. We had bags with electronic devices and delicate clothes, but we still had to get wet climbing on board. Thank God our bags didn't, but it was close. Every time we had to take the boat back to Cartagena and back, it was an ordeal. We struggled getting water and sand out of our shoes and clothes each time we got out of that boat in the beach. It was really bad and I truly hope they improve this. For this sole reason, I wouldn't stay in this hotel or in tierra bomba again until they fix it.

Verified reviewNOTHING!
It’s the worst hotel we been to in 26 years. We booked 2 nights but we already left after 1 nights. From 8 in the morning there arrive boats with daytourists. I think in total 200 persons, so as a hotelguest you don’t have a nice stay. The breakfast is disgusting. The food tastes like it’s been there for 3 days. And then there is the pool.. you don’t see the bottom of the pool because of all the dirty things. It’s smells like the sewer. When you are at the beach, every minute you are harassed by a seller. The jetski sellers ride past the bathing people so fast, that it’s life threatening.
