We didnt mind this, but if you want to be able to walk to shops, other restaurants etc then you wont be able to - you'll need to drive/ride share. But if youre happy to relax in the resort for a few days like we did then that's no issue

The 4 person dorm which had AC was comfortable (ac a life saver) and roomy. Shower was good. Nice to have a restaurant on site which gave 4 diff options for breakfast, and had a good selection of food on the menu. The staff (restaurant and hostel) were all lovely, as were the cats and dogs! Happy hour cocktails available (think it was 2 for 30), free chairs for using on the beach.

To enter the property, you cross a little bridge across a lagoon, which made it feel like we were stumbling upon a hidden gem. And this hotel was a gem. Beach front location. Clean, spacious rooms. Air conditioning. We immediately felt so comfortable. The staff were also incredibly helpful, especially when we were trying to get a refund to tickets for Tayrona Park. We loved sitting on the balcony of our room and listening to the waves. There was a bit of shade on the beach, and the hotel provided chairs. The water was extremely calm, very suitable for swimming. The food at the restaurant was delicious and good value, and we enjoyed having breakfast included. We would definitely recommend this place for visitors who want to enjoy the beach in peace.

The door to the room looked like it had seen better days and didn’t fully close within the doorframe. To secure your room, they have a locking doorknob and latch (but latch wasn’t able to be fully closed). The bathroom was very basic and on small side, with a small bar of soap offered (bring shampoo with you), but it was functional. The A/C took awhile to work and in July it was definitely needed as the weather was super hot. Perhaps it was because I was there on a weekday, or because not many other guests were there, but they didn’t have any organized activities during my stay which was slightly disappointing.

The location can’t be beat - right on the beach. Breakfast is included (several options available-check the menu online). Good food and reasonable prices at the restaurant. I had private room with balcony and had a decent amount of space. Very relaxing. They had cameras onsite as an extra security measure as well as private security personnel. Lockers were available to put belongings if going to the beach. They also offer beach towels and plastic chairs for your use.

Every thing was great, not ideal to have centro experience because it's 15-20 mins drive but taxis are available until late night. Don't expect lot of bars and restaurants in the beach, very quiet!

Amazing hostel on the beach, Carolina was great and helped me enter the room at 1pm (Gabriela didn't allow me even though hostel was almost empty, but that's fine, you can leave your bags at reception and chill on the beach). Great wifi, delicious food at their restaurant, cool vibes. Lot of options to reserve, I stayed in dorm of 4 beds, good AC and both nights ended up alone in the room. Kind staff, very clean, good beach- almost no waves(explore on the right, over the rocks - there is a private beach for you). Will definitely come back!

I LOVED this hostel, the beach was great without any waves, not a lot of people, very calm water. The breakfast was delish, the food and drinks sold at the bar were very good, a bit pricey but not too bad. I will stay here everytime I visit Santa Marta. Do keep in mind that it's like 15/20 min drive to the center of Santa Marta, but taxis are cheap.

Best location right by the sea. It's a bit of a hassle to get into town, but you can also take the bus or Uber. But you get peace and quiet and the sea.

Staff very nice and available. Good view on the beach and great location, the hostel is just along the beach. A bit far from restaurants and supermarkets (20min walk) but the prices of the hostel’s restaurant are reasonable. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and strongly recommend this hostel.

Excellent location right on the beach. Had access to free chairs to sit under the tree on the beach. Nice staff and friendly guests. Excellent breakfast. Easy 10 min transfer to the airport in the morning. Room had a view to the beach and fans rather than a/c, which I prefer.

Rooms need mosquito nets on the windows so they can be open at night time, internet is good but to work but it’s challenging to find a quiet spot to video call.

The bunk beds are cheap and wobbly, so when the person in the other bunk moves, the whole bed moves. Also, no hot water in the shower.

The wifi could be a bit spotty but was mostly good. The only real detractor was the people staying in the next room sat in front of their room chainsmoking a lot of the day, so there was just almost always the smell of cigarettes in the room.

Great location on a much calmer beach than over in Gaira at Rodadero. The staff were all so friendly, especially everyone in the restaurant. The food was delicious and it was especially nice to have the different options for breakfast so I could switch it up. Relaxing in the hammock was a great way to spend the day. Overall I was just very happy with the stay.

We absolutely loved staying at this hostel! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly we didn’t want to ever leave. I loved its proximity to the beach and the wonderful onsite restaurant. We ended up at this property after our original hotel didn’t have our room ready and I’m so glad that occurred because we definitely had a better time at Playa del Ritmo than we would’ve at first hotel. Reception and bar staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this stay to anyone visiting Santa Marta!!

Eeerm, not sure there is anything to put in here. If I have to then, the water with gas had no gas, maybe because the EXP had expired. A very minor thing. Would I come back - you bet I would.

Good atmosphere, good pina coladas, good beach. I booked in for 3 nights, didn't realise it was a 3 day national holiday, beach was packed, but not in a bad way. Came back a few days later and beach was empty. Lovely place to relax.

The room was very basic and a little bit smelly.

We chose this hostel for one night to catch an early flight from Santa Marta Airport. It turned out to be ideal. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They organised a taxi and even prepared some sandwiches as we left before breakfast. The beach is really nice and the bar offeres basic but tasty meals.

The location is easy to get to with local busses from Santa Marta center and the beach is wonderful. Beds comfy, views amazing and the food also very nice! Will be back very soon
