Wonderful stay in the jungle. We did a two hour hike up to the property which was really nice, but you can take the moto taxis. The place itself was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. It's in a nature reserve which you can walk around and visit.

It is a wet place, not their fault...but we aware if it. Also, ii booked a bungalow it was way up the hill. I was pleased to be able to swap to cabin near main building. But it would be lovely for a couple seeking peace. Journey there needs 4x4 without a doubt.

Beautiful surroundings..peaceful but noisy with the sounds of river and birds. A place to relax into. The food was delicious and freshly cooked. Good walks with helpful guide, who helped me as a 67 year old reasonably fit but not completely across river crossings and up and down steep bits to hlget to glorious waterfall for a swim. Great tour of grounds with owner...a testimony to how damaged land can be reclaimed. Massage was good too..

They put a couple of surprise costs on the bill that we only learned about upon check out. As tourism operators ourselves, we would suggest that any business always informs clients of extra costs as they occur, not when the bill is presented as the guest is leaving. Fortunately, I questioned these extra costs and they were removed, but it didn't leave the best impression.

The nature reserve is stunning, one of the most beautiful places I've stayed in all of South America. Some of the installations were in need of some dedicated maintenance but otherwise we would love to return many times.

The only thing I could think of is that the portions of the meals (except for the 'Caoba' breakfast meal) could be a bit bigger.

Location was stunning. On arrival we immediately decided to extend our stay. Loved the serenity, you won't hear any noise of cars or motorbikes. The only thing you hear is the river and the birds. It's totally different from all the commercial places around. The food was healthy en very tasty. They served there own fish. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The accomodations are distant from eachother, which makes it feel like you're having your own private spot in the forest.

Tasty food, serene surroundings, great for calming down. I had two nights, would have loved to stay more. Also feels like your money goes to good use in their efforts to protect nature and regrow the forests. I stayed in the traditional cabin, that was very beautiful place to stay.

11 out of 10! Example of how human and nature can exist peacefully together! Also attention to small details! Simple, but thought out! Mototaxi to Caoba is like separate attraction!

rooms could be better sealed from the elements- a gigantic spider paid us a visit while we were there.

love that you see so much wildlife AT the property! beautiful art in rooms. lovely staff- I got some wood varnish stains on my shorts as a result of some work they were doing and they did everything possible to remove the stains (and succeeded!)

Beautiful place with lovely staff. We loved to spend a few days to find calmness and rest in the Jungle. But there is also lots to see and some great activities to do. Staff was very friendly and helpfull

Peaceful, chilled place, a great place to relax and recharge. The staff were wonderful too. A lot of plants and animals to see, plus places to swim in the river. Food was great and varied, yum!

This is a little gem in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta! I love their concept: a place where you can rest and peacefully enjoy nature to sooth your senses, in a sustainable and responsible way. I really appreciate the owners commitment with sustainability, their love for nature, culture and their intention to share their property and their knowledge about the Tayrona culture and biodiversity of la Sierra Nevada. The decision to book a massage with Zara was the cherry on the top and what allowed me to fully rest, body and mind.

we absolutely loved it, but maybe a few things you should be aware: - the river was too loud for me to sleep (earplugs were help enough), my partner loved it - there is a set menu: for breakfast you can choose, for lunch there was mostly vegetarian, fish or chicken option, dinner was always fixed vegetarian (if you are a super picky eater, maybe not for you, we though loved the food) the only food i didn’t love was the vegetarian sandwich - the shower is cold, though never a problem as it is rather warm - the drive there of course is bumpy, if you easily get care sick, maybe not for you - sadly the tour of medical plants right now is only available in spanish

Caoba is an amazing place, the staff was super friendly, the grounds are breathtaking (reservoir with different ponds with endangered amazon fish, rare plants etc.). we did hikes (walks) the waterfalls, visited the cacao farm, did yoga and had a massage. everything was great! for the birthday of my partner i ordered a cake that was super delicious! the food overall was great! in short: - great location to unwind, beautiful surrounding, you can feel this place was created with love - staff does its upmost to make you comfortable and organised a hike for us to minca with transportation of our luggage - loved the good and sustainability approach - cute dogs (we didn’t find them boisterous but actually super cute, but they also leave uou alone if you don’t continously scratch them)

The biggest downsides were the bumpy (and long) drive in, the bed (a little uncomfortable), and cold showers. It's really a great place. We hope to return.

Amazing staff (every single person, especially Gigi and Danibys), equally amazing location, wonderful meals, and lots of peace and quiet. We loved strolling the grounds and exploring the area. We recommend Sara's four elements waterfall hike and massages. It's also fun (and a bit of an adventure) to walk to the neighboring finca de cacao. We hope to return one day.

For us not a negative, but be aware that getting up to Caoba is a bit of an effort - either a 15 min moto-taxi (paid 25k per person with large-ish rucksacks) or a 4x4 (significantly more expensive). The benefit of this is that the place feels truly secluded and away from the masses. We walked down on our departure day - took 1.5 hours. They also have several free range dogs - they are friendly towards guests but are sometimes boisterous among themselves (could be an issue if you have a serious fear of dogs).

Brilliant place. It is quite literally a reserve, with a wide set of plants and animals. Very friendly staff, good food and great tips on what to do. I especially liked the river on the property’s ground for a fresh dip! The room (we stayed in the treehouse) was basic but had everything one would expect from such an accommodation. Showers are cold, but this is to be expected and is frankly pleasant in the warm, humid jungle. Final point - surprisingly there were not many mosquitoes (but still, don’t forget your bug spray).

We made the booking at 11:30am from Santa Marta on the day of arrival. We wanted to stay in Bonda and the reviews of this place looked amazing. We took a taxi, but the sat nav was intermittant due to poor internet signal. When we got signal , we called the venue (35 mins into the taxi ride) & they advised that we were unable to reach the accommodation by taxi. They could arrange 4 motos to collect us (& our luggage) at a cost of 160k COP or a 4x4 SUV at a cost of $240k COP. We would also need to pay the similar the following day to return to Santa Marta. This was cost prohibitive to us, so we asked if we could cancel the booking. They said that we need to submit a cancellation via Booking.com & they would ask their boss to arrange the waiver. Later that day, I received a notification that they were unable to waive the cancellation fee because it was not cancelled 2 days before the booking!! I'm dissapointed that the hotel didn't make it clearer that special transport was required (instead of being hidden in the smallprint of the booking confirmation). We have recontacted the accommodation via WhatsAPP asking then to waive the cancellation fee, but they have declined. I've written this review becasue I don't want any other future guests to have the same experience. Not only do we need to pay for the cancellation fee, but we also paid $70k COP for a taxi ride half way there & back. Note to teh hotel: I will change my rating if you consider waiving the cancellation charge.
