Its location was good and it had nice nature at the back

Charge for drinking water, highly overpriced beers at the bar. Was a clear cheap price in then an extortionate price for everything there play. The rooms were unclean with dead bugs everywhere and smelt like body odour

I stayed at Rio Elemento in Minca for what was supposed to be just 4 nights… and ended up staying for 12! The location is absolutely perfect – surrounded by nature, yet close enough to everything you might need. The atmosphere is so welcoming that you instantly feel at home. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. A special mention goes to Luis at the reception – always smiling, approachable, and ready to take care of anything right away. Over my stay, we actually became friends, which says a lot about the warmth of this place. The food at Rio Elemento is fantastic. The BBQ nights are a highlight, and the meat is simply delicious – perfectly grilled and full of flavor. It’s the kind of food that makes you look forward to dinner all day. If you’re thinking about exploring Minca, ask at reception for Leonardo. He’s a local with a big heart and an open mind. His tours are not your typical tourist trips – they give you a real insight into the lives of the people in Minca. You’ll meet locals, have meaningful conversations, and truly connect with the community. The hostel itself is spotless and well-maintained. My dorm had air conditioning and hot water, which made it extra comfortable after a day of adventures. I can’t recommend Rio Elemento enough – it’s not just a hostel, it’s an experience filled with great people, amazing food, and unforgettable memories.

I loved Rio Elemento and was sad to only get to spend one night here. The setting is incredible, my cabaña next to the river was rustic but had electricity! The setting is just magical. Friendly but very chilled with so much space for everyone to do their thing. I read a really enthusiastic review about how if world leaders got together here all the problems would be sorted and I have to agree!!! Already wondering when I can come back for longer. Perfect.

    Breakfast was good

I stayed at Rio Elemento from July 4th to 6th, and within just two nights I suffered nearly 100 bed bug bites. The resulting intense itching lasted for days and severely affected my comfort. I found a massive infestation between the bed frame and the wall – with visible bugs, eggs, shed skins, and feces. What’s worse: Previous reviews had already mentioned bed bugs, meaning this is a known problem that has been ignored. The staff didn’t apologize, took no action, and failed to warn other guests. I only received a partial refund after contacting Booking.com. Such a level of hygiene failure and disregard for guest safety is absolutely unacceptable. Avoid this place at all costs.

We stayed in the cabin by the river which was lovely, it was comfortable and clean but still felt like you were immersed in nature. The pool area and bar were spacious and great, breakfast included was ideal and the staff were super helpful with recommendations and planning.

Enjoyed the pool & bar. Only 2 breakfast options. Both were OK/not great. Pool looks like the photos

I just thought it would be more isolated like some of the other accommodations. It was pretty much at the edge of the town. Just not quite what I was expecting.

Pretty much everything was phenomenal! The pool, river view, giant rope swing are all amazing!

Just overall cleanliness, but I also would pick up any trash I saw myself. The property was well maintained, just seemed like a big space for a smaller staff to accommodate.

Overpriced. My room was super cramped and there was no space for anything.

They charge for drinking water, and out of the four showers, only one was working.

The property was quite big and the area was nice with the pool and the garden and the river and it was easy to get to with a slight walk, the breakfast was nice

The WiFi was bad and didn’t stretch to our room, they turned off the electricity during the day so you couldn’t charge your phone or anything like that. The light was also quite dim and didn’t illuminate the whole room so was difficult when trying to pack etc. the showers were very cold. The cat kept coming into our room and laying on my bed, the dogs also were howling very early in the mornings and kept coming into our room. I didn’t find that the staff were very friendly. Also you have to pay 3.000 pesos for tea, coffee and water but the area was unsupervised so it seemed you can go and help yourself anyway without knowing if you paid or not. The pool also wasn’t clean at times. Not a social hostel

Great place in the middle of the nature. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Bed linens were dirty and lots of things were just falling apart. Water leaks in the toilets and outside, things rusting or locks of toilet doors broken. Also there were no pictures to know what I waa booking in the case of the camping option.
