How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe room I booked was really big, I didn't think it was that big. Welcoming staff accompanying me to the room was very nice. Breakfast was with many fruits I liked it.
I was surprised there is no heater in the room. Reading the reviews of most hotels in Bogota it turned out almost no hotel providing heater.

Verified reviewA huge and very good breakfast is served, with many options for everyone and everything was really fresh. Staff in the restaurant was very nice and friendly: the best past of our stay was the breakfast time! Room was wide with comfortable beds. There is a sauna but we didn't have any time to use it.
We were surprised to see that almost anyone speaks English; moreover when we arrived, the room was not very clean and we had to call the cleaning staff to clean again and prepare the third bed (our reservation was for 3 people but room was prepared for 2). The location is not too far away from restaurants and bars (10-15 min on foot) but we would have preferred to stay closer to the most lively area of El Chapinero.

Verified reviewConcise Version This hotel is a great choice. It's conveniently located near many restaurants and shops. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The bed is comfortable, the room is quiet, and the breakfast is excellent. You'll find everything you need for a comfortable stay. Don't miss the rooftop bar—it has a fantastic atmosphere and amazing views.
When paying with a credit card, be careful. The receptionist charged us in Sterling instead of Colombian pesos, which inflated the price. We ended up paying 14% more than the original price listed on Booking.com.

Verified reviewI liked the hotel in general, the room, the Lounge, the breakfast was delicious, the service, the gym, the sauna.
I didn't like the fact that there was no bed sheets, nor piĺows for the sofabed. The first night I arrived, I was really tired and had to sleep on the sofabed without pillow, nor sheets and it was cold. I didn't like the fact that my room which was like a little apartment, had no glasses, no plates, no forks, no nothing. It had a coffee machine without the cup, so I could not boil water. There was literally nothing in my kitchen to help myself.

Verified reviewNothing, they did get me heaters for the room on the first day which was VERY needed as you are unable to set the room temperature yourself, its like 1975 tech, the hotel needs a full renovation, very DARK rooms, little lighting. Staff unhelpful and getting things wrong with charges and fees spending time fixing it and then at check out NOTHING was recorded properly causing me embarrassment at 2.00am checking out?
No temperature control in rooms for air conditioning, restaurant very poor quality, staff unprofessional, trying to over charge on mini bar and also a meal in restaurant, embarrassing me at 2.00am check out trying to make me pay for a meal that was sorted the day before which took me 20 minutes to do...I did this so I would be able to leave at 2.00am without ANY fuss with non English speaking staff at that time, HOW WRONG I WAS, they embarrassed me and made check out a dreadful experience. Do not use choice hotels is my advice. No information for English speakers about tours and activities in Bogota.
