The only downside was the noise of the helicopters that sometimes fly in the area, but that is not something that can be avoided and I'm sure it depends on the day and the season. It surprised us at first because it was the only thing that impacted the tranquility of the location but I imagine it would be true of any location.

This property is magical and the family that owns it are a huge part of the charm. They pour so much love into the house and grounds. The location on the lake is super lovely, and the tuk tuk ride to/from town was always fun. Each room is unique and the a landscaping is gorgeous. We swam and kayaked in the cove next to the house. At the time we stayed, we were the only guests, but we loved connecting with Guillermo, his wife, the staff and a super friendly cat. I highly recommend staying at least two nights. We can't wait to come back!

Astonishingly beautiful little b-n-b just outside the main town (though only a 10-min ride into the center). Guillermo was a gracious, knowledgeable, and welcoming host, who did everything from give me tips to share stories to help me find my phone when I left it in a tuk tuk. The rooms are comfortable and quiet with gorgeous views, and the breakfast on the terrace cannot be beat (tip: take the house special). My only regret is that I was only here one night. You can definitely do Guatapé in a day, but this place is worth extending your stay a little bit, especially if—like me—it comes in the middle of a longer trip.

Nothing, everything was great.

The property is stunning. Lots of levels and right beside the lake. The room was beautiful and comfortable but the real highlight is the hospitality of Guillermo and his wife, who took exceptional care of us. They provided us with a great breakfast and transportation options with Tuk Tuks and private taxis. It feels like we gained a friend in Colombia through this stay and can’t wait to revisit. Bonus, the property is very close to the El Penol rock.

Beautiful estate; our boys had a lot of fun playing cards into the evening in the gazebo overlooking the water, in fact one even fell asleep in the hammock. The owner was amazing- he helped me mend my wife’s luggage that broke- well beyond any typical hotel stay. I’d highly recommend Serendipity, its location was great and it was easy to take tuc tuc’s in to town. 10/10

It is hard to find negatives because everything is so nice! There are only a few parking spots which, because of the driveway, are a little difficult to navigate. We never had any problems but if you have a very large vehicle, it may be tight.

Everything about Serendipity is a paradise from the location to the breakfast to the hosts. We loved the amazing views, the close proximity to Guatapé, and the special attention from the hosts to help us find a fishing expedition.

It is quite far from everything, and you need to take a tuktuk everywhere, but I didn’t mind. I liked the quiet.

So many things to enjoy: - Guillermo is extremely communicative, responsive, and will arrange anything you need! - Guillermo and his wife prepare a fresh breakfast for you every morning, simply the best. - Wifi is strong and capable for remote workers, mesh router in your room. - Guest common outdoor space with full kitchen, music, etc. - Free kayaks. - Location is just out of town, and away from traffic, just a short tuktuk ride away.

I loved Guillermo's hospitality (the owner). He made us feel exceptionally welcome, was flexible with our check-in time, and made sure to keep us comfortable every step of the experience. The hotel was a really beautiful get away from the buzz of Colombia’s big cities. We really enjoyed our stay and are sad to leave. The owners made us feel very welcome from the start and were really accomodating to make our stay as pleasant as possible! We also loved the kayakking in this beautiful environment. This location was amazing. Very accommodating staff. The owner was a blessing to us he and his staff made us feel at home. Comfortable, safe, clean, and peaceful. The view is incredible, not just the lake view but also to the Quatape El Peñol rock.. Able to do a little bit of everything to each person's liking. Wish I could have stayed longer, definitely coming back.
