It was a bit far away from the main part of the island, and if was spending more than two days there, I would have to have rented a motorcycle for the full time, not just one day.

The grounds of this hotel are quite large and impressive, however it seems that there may still be repairs to make after the storms that hit the island. For example, there was a pool not filled and some other small details left in disrepair. It seems that they have an excellent set up however, the bar was always left unattended and you had to walk from the pool over to the kitchen to order a drink. I scheduled a massage with thier in-house masseuse, but she showed up late and finsihed the massage early. Maybe skip this part.

The best part about Solare Ecohotel is the kitchen! The food is incredible, so you should be sure to stop by and enjoy a meal or two even if you don[t end up staying here. The rooms are very cute and clean! The bed is incredibly comfortable and the shower is very nice as well. The pool area is super spacious. The hotel is located farther away from the bustle of the center, which I appreciated! They offer an option of shuttle to the center, but I did not use the service. This is a great hotel option if you are looking for a calm quiet getaway.

I love having hot water in my shower but this place didn't have that. The food was OK, not great but OK. Cocktails were amazing though.

It was nice and quiet. There was a ladder into the ocean across the road which was fun to go swimming and very private. The service was great and the room was very comfortable. If you stay here I would suggest hiring a moto or buggy because there is not a lot of places nearby to eat.

LOOK FOR OTHER OPTIONS!! Room is unsanitary. Room and facility are not maintained, checked in a dirty room and they never cleaned it once. Wallpapers coming off, Bedbugs have been found on the bed and the chairs of the balcony. There was also a locked room in our room being used as a storage, by the staff i'm assuming, which has not been used for a very longtime. It is definitely a shame that there aren't taking care of the facility and the room because it has the potential to be a great hotel... Located very far away from the center, make sure you rent a scooter or a cart to move in the island.

Everything is extremely run down and dirty, from the facilities to the bedsheet or towels. Pictures from both Booking.com and Instagram are a total catfish. I struggled to get towels for my room until 7pm on the first night. Over 5 nights, my bedroom was never tidied or made, despite the sign I put on the door every morning. One of the two air con units in my room broke mid-stay, same as the glass door for what they call ‘fitness centre’ (it’s not, it’s a glass room with a couple dumbbells). The walls of the rooms are so thin I could clearly hear my neighbors have sex next door. Power even went off for a couple of times during my stay, leaving the entire resort without any electricity or WiFi. Of the 3 pools, 2 are dried up and the remaining 1 extremely dirty, as everything else. Bottom line, I don’t know if this is an acceptable standard for Colombian tourists, but if you’re European or American - do not waste you time.

Everything is rusty, broken or dirty. Bags with garbage were laying around for days.

This is not a 4 star hotel, not 3 even. Everything is old and dirty. They are obviously running out of money. The mini bar fridges were sold even though visible in the pictures. TV’s were sold in general purpose rooms. Breakfast was a sad reflection of what is shown in the pictures. Towels and bed linen have stains, bathroom was not clean and nor were the floors in any of the rooms.

The rooms do not look like the pictures. All the junior suites with pool view are actually off to the side and about 50 feet away from the pool. Stayed in Suite 01, something kept slapping against the bedroom window late at night making us think someone was trying to break in. We couldn’t figure out how to use the safe and it wasn’t bolted down to anything. The swing function of the air conditioner made a loud cracking sound every time the louver went up. The Master Suites in the attached building are also terrible, we were given room 42 on the ground floor right next to reception and the huge sliding glass door by the bed did not lock, anyone can walk in. The WIFI “Solare Beta” was also non existent in this room and kept dropping. We switched to another Master suite that was not attached to others, Room 33. The fancy wooden accent wall behind the bed is actually peel and stick wallpaper and was falling off the wall. None of the master Suite’s had safes. The mosquitos are in abundance here, they bit us up like crazy. There were dogs close by that were fighting every night at late hours. The free breakfast was meh and the location is terrible. It’s 30 minutes to centro by car and once you’re on the property there’s no where to go. None of the rooms have refrigerators to store water or anything even though you can clearly see the furniture was built to accommodate a mini fridge and no hot water on the property. The shower heads were rusted and plugged with debris so only half the nozzles work and the toilets had no pressure to flush solids in 1 flush, it took about 5 flushes.

The staff was friendly, welcoming and willing to help. That was the only thing good about this place, the staff was great!

The rooms to start with were full of humidity. The cleaniness of the rooms were not for a ☆☆☆☆ Hotel. REALLY I DONT KNOW HOW a hotel 🏨 gets these stars..!! I reported at the reception that the SAFE Box at the rooms was NOT working and the water at the shower was barely coming out , and there was NOT hot water...!!! Later in the afternoon , the same problem , no one was worried about the situation. The breakfast very límited ALWAYS refering to a ☆☆☆☆Hotel...!!! The bar next to the pool was NOT functional, the restroom (WC) next to the pool 3 days , had NO water to flash, full of urine..!!! It was a bad experience and I would NOT recomennd it , specially because the room and consiquently all my clothes are full of bedbugs and my body full of bites. I had to visit the doctor and get a therapy as well as to disenfect all my apartament because unfortunately I brought the bedbugs into my apartament without intention. ITS REALLY SAD SUCH A BEAUTIFUL ISLAND WITH AMAZING NATURE NOT TONBE TREATED AS IT SHOULD BE. BAD EXPERIENCE ITS THE MOST POLITE EXPRESSION THAT I COULD REFER TO...!!!

Very unsatisfied. The following in NOT acceptable for a 4 star rated hotel in Booking. - The hotel is the furthest one in the island, we took it because Booking states the hotel has an airport shuttle, I wrote the hotel in advance to ask for this no one replied, once we got there we were told there was no service and we had to look for it and pay it. - There was garbage/rubbish under the bed, the sheets had stains on them, they were clean and smelled very good. - The breakfast buffet was really poor, they did not replenish the fruits or food for the guests. - There was no hot water, the towel holders were almost falling apart. - The staff was mostly nice, however very unfocused, we asked for coffee 3 times, they almost did not bring it, they misplaced our breakfast order after double checking what we wanted, and once we stated it was wrong the argued back as if it was our fault. - There was only one hand towel per room, I asked 3 times to get one more, they said there was only one assigned per room. After insisting I got another big towel. - There was no bath rug to get out of the shower. - One of the security guards was sleeping in a hammoc outside of our room one of the nights, he was snoring really loud. On the positive side: - The beds were VERY comfortable - The AC worked perfectly

The whole property is outdated and needs urgently maintenance. It isn’t very clean either and a number of things are not working like no pool lights at all, rotten pool furniture, etc.. No hot water in the room. Nothing was as beautiful as shown on the photos on Booking.com.

Nice resort in a great location on San Andres island. Food at the restaurant is great and delicious.

Staff at the restaurant was not very kind, and prices at the restaurant are just exesive, food quiality was not great for the prices charged. additioanlly restaurant and drinks close at 9,30 pm and there is nothing around the area to get even a glass of water.

the staff at the front desk was quite helpful and polite, rooms with the sea view are very confy, not the case of the rooms located at back of the proprety. Property is very quite, good place to relax and spend a few days with family.

Not welcoming or pleasant atmosphere. We didn’t like Their manners, behavior, lack of organization and empathy to our needs made us feel uncomfortable and ignored. Nobody ask us if we needed something or how is everything or show interest in our stay.

The rooms, the lack of hot water, the lack of maintenance in all the common areas and ammenities, the overprice in the rooms and restaurante and the not very friendly staff overall!

The pool and outdoor area, though it needs a lot of maintenance. The receptionist, Luz Angela, who always had a smile on her face and was willing to help.

It's not that I didn't like it was just distance from downtown we had to get transportation every time because there were no more boggies to rent.

The place was beautiful, very clean, and the room was spacious for both of us. It gave me a forestry vibe, very quiet. Staff was wonderful, especially at the restaurant they were all exquisite and friendly. Made us feel like we were friends. The view from hotel to ocean nice.
